Why won't my Banana Republic credit card login anymore?
Hi guys ... we can no longer access our Banana Republic card. We had access for quite some time, but are not having trouble.

Thank you for reporting this issue. In case you didn't see the latest update from Ayssa above, it has come to our attention that our data provider’s aggregation efforts for all merchant credit card accounts powered by GE Money Bank have been temporarily disabled. Our data provider is working directly with GEMB to find a resolution to this issue.
We’ll provide an update as soon as we have one. We apologize for any inconvenience in the meantime.

Hello thomaspo,
As per checking on our database I can see here that your Banana Republic Credit Card account is refreshing fine since12:59PM Sun, Apr 25, 2010.
Enjoy using Mint. :) -

I would agree, authentication to the Banana Republic card site is totally inconsistent. I can fix the account once and it still breaks the next time. Frustrating.

Hello mrblank,

I also can't get my banana republic card to connect. It seems the default url (secure.bananarepublic.com) is for buying clothes, not for managing the credit card. The credit card management url is actually an oddly generic url, onlinecreditcenter6.com. Sounds fake, but that's what it is. This is frustrating since I'm using this card more now and it's not reflecting anything.
-
Hello corbwoo,
For the last attempt, can you please delete the Banana Republic Credit Card account from your profile by clicking on the ""Delete"" mark on the upper right corner of the account box, then re-add it. Some customers were able to fix the problem by doing so. Make sure you set up same set of security questions you have on your bank site (if there's any) and on Mint.com site. It should be in the same exact order.
Now, after this attempt and you are still unsuccessful in adding your account, please just keep it attached to Mint and contact us again so we may file a bug.
Kindly let us know what happens. :) -

I have been trying to load the Banana republic card for my wife and it gets hung up at the login. I have changed passwords, and usernames to try to switch things up to no avail. It looks like it is not prompting for a separate security question and then not getting to password.
This is a GE Money Bank card that logs in through the secureonline6 address mentioned above. I tried logging in through GE Money Bank and GE Money Bank Credit Card. Neither work. When I searched for Banana Republic, no cards came up.
Any help would be appreciated.-
Hello Stracck,
Thank you for reporting this problem. It appears to be resolved at this time, you have success fully added your Banana Republic Credit Card account last 1:37PM Mon, May 17, 2010 and it is currently refreshing fine.
Enjoy using Mint! Have a great day! :) -

Same problem here. I've tried to add using the GE Money Bank options and it fails. I also tried searching for onlinecreditcenter6.com and found a Sams Club option (I imagine GE manages their credit cards as well) and tried it just in case using my Banana log in creds and it didn't work either. Would love to get my Banana Republic transactions into Mint. I love mint!
-
Hi seattleguy,
As per checking on your Mint account on our DB, I can see here that you do not have an attempt to add the "Banana Republic Credit Card".
Please add the correct option in order access your account, search for "Banana Republic Credit Card" in the Add an Account page of Mint.
Hope this helps. :)
Enjoy using Mint. -

Hi ballyhoo and magerton,
I am forwarding this issue with your Banana Republic Credit Card account to our internal team to find the root cause and work to resolution. Sorry for the frustration this is causing you. We will contact you once we hear back from them. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Please do not remove/re-add the account in question. We can't resolve the bug if you remove the financial institution in Mint. Also, removing your accounts will result to deletion of your transaction history and their customization.
Thank you for your patience in the meantime, we apologize any inconvenience.

Divine-
Thanks! Will look fwd to an update. You fixed my Ameriprise issue... now this is the only one I have!

I am having the same problems. Whenever I try to add the Banana Republic Card it says my log in information is incorrect but it is not.
-
-
I have been having this issue the last few days as well. Signing in to the Banana Republic account online requires you to answer your security question is you are on a computer you don't normally use (not "recognized" or "authorized"). Thought it may have something to do with this but it didn't seem to. The account has been working just fine for almost two months but like I said, the last few days it says my login info is wrong. Hopefully this can be fixed soon!

Wow...almost a month and still nothing?
I have come to love what Mint could potentially be, but in the meantime I am getting more and more frustrated at what Mint actually is! I won't pretend to know/understand the complexities involved of importing, supporting & managing the numerous accounts from institutions with varying systems. However, based on the experiences I have had with numerous bugs in mint.com, the length of time it takes to receive a response, let alone a solution...it would seem there are literally all of three employees working to fix the problems.
Instead they are working on useless things like "tracking your cash spending" when there was already a much easier, and in my opinion, faster way of doing this by splitting your cash & ATM withdrawal transaction. Who needs this "manually create transaction...deduct from last ATM withdrawal" business...which itself confusingly creates an additional transaction marked "transfer for cash spending" in the amount of cash you used for your purchase. Why? For internal tracking purposes? Well if that type of transaction linkage is possible and/or necessary why isn't there a way to link other transactions such as in the scenario of a "returned purchase"? Right now, all this does is show the transaction as income (green)...it doesn't offset your budget. Instead, you have to go and find the original transaction and mark it “exclude from mint” so it doesn’t show up in your budget. I understand this ability may only be necessary in certain situations and really only for certain accounts (mostly credit cards instead of returning something for cash/debit) but that’s all the more reason to make it an option...just some way you can link a returned purchase to a specific transaction. Anyways, I digress....
Now, the fact that this specific account, that I am having trouble with, worked just fine since I started using mint 4 months ago but then one day fails to login/sync, one may assume that there is an issue with the banking institution. They are making changes, no longer support mint.com, etc. (But if that is the case...why can't mint.com come out and say something to that effect. Some type of notification, email, whatever!) However, in this specific case, there is NO problem with the banking institution because my girlfriend’s account logs in, syncs, and updates perfectly! It even auto-added her new card when it was upgraded and the number was changed! So what is going on here?!?!
I would love it if my problem was simply my own stupidity with messing up the login information and/or security questions...but it’s not. Meanwhile, I have an account that I can't see, resulting in a budget that does not reflect reality...which in turn makes mint.com slightly less useful. If I add that to the various issues both myself and others have had with duplicated and various screwed up pending transactions, miscalculated investment cost basis (even though it can see my buy & sell transactions on top of the info the actual institution is feeding it...WTF?), or several other accounts from institutions that are "supported" but just don't sync or work properly (Charles Schwab, Barlclaycard/Juniper, Fidelity, and more).
I apologize if some don’t want to read my rant but this has been brewing in me for a few months now. Again, I love the potential that Mint has which is why I post on the help boards, and I would be lying if I said it hasn’t been useful at all. But it is my hope that beta testing will soon be over and some of these solutions can be found & improvements can be made......in a timely manner.....or atleast with some communication along the way. -

Mint cannot login to my Banana Republic Credit Card account. Checked username and password on banana's website, and it is correct. The secureserver.bananarepublic.com site that mint is supposed to login to does not have a sign in option. That is located at https://secure-bananarepublic.gap.com... if that helps!

I'm also having troubles. It's been this way for a couple of weeks. Banana Republic worked fine for me with Mint since I joined in Sept 2008 but recently it's been very unpredictable. I've tried everything and by the looks of it, it's an issue all around.
-
-
-
-
It's actually quite annoying. I'm working with someone in customer service (via e-mail) and her responses are for me to keep going in and clicking on "fix it". I find this rather humorous as I'm pretty sure we've all thought to do that in order to rectify this problem. Is someone from Mint out there watching these threads? Can you please help us all just figure out how to fix this problem once and for all? I feel bad that we are all probably taking up our own individual time with your customer service reps to solve a problem that is universal.

-
I tried changing my BR account to have it connect with incorrect login info and I still get that 'Temporary Issue' message o_0.
-
-
I'm not sure if this will help anyone, but I've been having this same problem for the last week or so, but I just logged into Mint and it looks like this time it was able to properly update my account.
-
-
-
-
I have tried several times to get my Banana Republic account working. I know my name and password is right. I tried adding different urls but I keep getting errors. Just tried it again and it doesn't work. It has never worked for me.
-
-
I can't get it to work either. Seems like it's trying to login to the Banana Republic shopping cart rather than the credit card account.
-
-
My BR link has worked in Mint for over a year, but it hasn't worked for the last week or so... no idea why, but it's quite frustrating. Are any Mint staff monitoring this who can help us out? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with my Banana Republic credit card. I wish I'd seen divine's post about not deleting the account though, because I did that to my account after using the same method to fix my SallieMae student loan account. All I've seen for about a week on this card is "Temporary Issue", after several months of it working fine. Any help would be great.
-
-
I get the 'Temporary Issue' message also. I am trying to add the account for the first time, but it always hangs.
-
-
This is ridiculous. I cannot believe this issue has still not been solved! From our end, it appears to have an incorrect website associated with the Banana Republic card...so Mint...FIX IT PLEASE! In the past, I have always strongly recommended using Mint.com to friends and associates, however, I intend to stop if this issue is not resolved expediently. Frustrating!
-
-
Just doing a +1. I'm having this issue as well. It was working fine up until a week ago and has not been able to update since.
-
-
I'm having this issue too -- my account hasn't properly updated in a week even though I've clicked on "Fix It" numerous times during that time period. I use my Banana Republic card frequently, and not having an updated balance to budget with makes Mint not all that useful to me.
-
-
Mint says that my Banana Republic Luxe Visa card has not been updated in 2 months. I clicked "Fix It!" but it didn't do anything.
Please help!! -
-
I'm having the exact same problem. Have been for a few weeks. Any suggestions or has anyone worked on this?
-
-
Same problem here. New Mint user and this is a bit frustrating! Hope it gets fixed sooner than later!
-
-
BR has been working since I joined as well, but in the past week or two it has since been unable to update.
-
-
I had the problem too. Then I deleted my account and re-added it. Then it worked for awhile. Now it's not working again. I tried to delete and add again, but this time I keep getting the temporary issue problem where it keeps asking me for the login information (I've checked numerous times to make sure I was putting in the correct information).
Very frustrating as I was just getting used to using Mint for pretty much everything. Boo! -
-
-
-
I have an Old Navy card and am also having issues. It won't update and it's been like that for at least 2 weeks.
-
-
I can't login to my BR account anymore. Still a problem.
-
-
I'm also having this problem. I tried re-adding without success. I've confirmed my account login works on the BR site.

My Banana Republic credit account hasn't updated since yesterday. I added the account more than a year and a half ago and haven't had this type of extended problem before. Please help!

Same issue ... have deleted the account and then added it back - no resolution.

+1. Worked consistently fine for almost a year, and then the last 2-3 weeks it doesn't work at all. Maybe security questions are causing the problem?
-
-
-
-
My Banana Republic card was covverted to a visa card, and since then I've had problems updating. It has been 5 days since it worked.
-
-
Same with me, it quit long time ago, I deleted, tried to re-add it... and nothing.
-
-
Mine doesn't work either. Just stopped 5 days ago...as soon as I had started using it again!
-
-
Yet another person with this problem. It's GE Money Bank that runs these cards. They are the most problematic ones. But usually they work well enough, and lately nothing for a week or even two weeks.
Old Navy, Sam's Club, and Wal Mart are the ones I have. Also Texaco Gasoline, although that one started working today, mysteriously. Help, Mint! This is very frustrating!
It's true that we don't really care about features like "track cash spending." How about getting our accounts to log in properly?? -
-
+1 here. Hasn't worked for 2 weeks. Deleting and re-adding makes no difference.
-
-
I'm having this problem too. I tried deleting the account and adding it again as one Mint employee suggested but that just made the problem even worse because now I don't have my historical transactions either. Please help!
-
-
Same problem as everyone here. I emailed mint.com directly and said they have notified their engineers of this problem. Hopefully the solution will apply to everyone.
-
-
Just adding another person that's having an issue with Banana Republic updating. It's been a little over a week. I deleted the account and re-added it with no success. Hopefully it will be resolved soon! Thank you Mint :)
-
-
mine quit synching after BR changed the account to a visa credit card (from a store charge card). Tried deleting the account and that did not solve it. HELP!
-
-
So it looks like the last update from Mint was a month ago when many, many people seem to be having this issue? For a month now I haven't been able to get that card to update (and I love how it keeps saying "temporary issue" when it clearly isn't). I haven't been able to properly do my budget or track my spending with that card stuck at an old balance, which makes this site useless to me. If another week goes by without at least an update on the situation, I think I'm done with this site. It's more frustrating than helpful to me.

I haven't been able to access my Banana Card for two weeks. I hope Mint can fix this.

Hello,
We have known an issue affecting Banana Republic credit card where users encounter "Temporary issue connecting" error in Mint.
Our data engineering team is currently working to resolve this issue.
We will post here as soon as we have an update on its status. Our apologies for the inconvenience.
Have a good day!-
is there a status to this?

My Banana Credit card has also been down for at least a week or so. I'm hoping to get this resolved as this is the only nagging problem from Mint right now.
-

just started using mint -- my banana republic visa credit card is the source of most of my historical transactions (greater than two months ago)... i don't benefit from using mint until this problem is solved. glad to hear someone is working out it -- please fix!

Same problem...BR card hasn't updated for two weeks, keeps giving me the "temporary issue" message.

Hosed here too...
From the web it goes:
login
identifying question
password
Mint never prompts me for the identifying question... -

Banana Republic Credit Card (GEMB) - Add/Refresh Issue

Hello,
Credit Card accounts powered by GE Money Bank has been disabled temporarily by one of our data aggregation providers. We are constantly in touch with GEMB to find a resolution to this issue.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I will keep you updated on the progress.
Have a good day! -

My banana republic acct is now refreshing. I deleted and re-added a week ago, then couple days ago it finally started working again.

It's still not working for me. I'm confused why it works for some people and not for others.

I do not think this solves the problem, this only explains it. Could you all provide an estimated time you expect the fix?

"The company says this solves the problem"?
What?! Uh no, four months on and the problem has not been "solved." How silly to add such a notation. -

I have this problem as well. I was able to add the account last month but it has refused to update for the past 2 weeks. I hope Mint is still trying to resolve the issue. I would like to have the transactions load to help with my budgeting. Thanks.

I've had this problem for about a month now. It was working for quite some time with sporadic problems but I can't connect despite repeated attempts.
-
-
Same issue. Please fix this mint, clearly an issue for numerous users
-

My card hasn't worked for months now. I check in every once in awhile and the problem remains. Unfortunately, Mint isn't particularly useful for me anymore. Would love for this to get fixed.

I am having the same issue - I haven't been able to connect in two months.

Can we get an update on the issue? Is there anything I can tell the folks at Banana Republic or GEMB that might help?

I'm having this problem. Stopped updating about 2 weeks ago, and I notice that the Banana Republic card login page is now different. I've noticed that whenever an account website changes, Mint does not log in anymore (which makes sense), as the website changes.

last company update is 5-month old, how about a new update? This account has been working randomly for well over a year and is definitely not working today

Still doesn't work. And hasn't worked for about a year. I enjoyed using Mint, and keep checking to see if it works but oh well

I had a purchase of $42.11 on Gap in July 2010 using Banana's credit card. As a diligent customer (also with Ann Taylor, J. Jill, Talbot) and get used to Banana's credit system, I did my payment online as usual. In September, I checked my personal bank account and figured out that my payment with Banana wasn't gone through. I then checked my Banana and figured out that I didn't!!! Thought that it was my mistake for not being carefully for the last bill. I did make my payment, including $25 late fee charge right away. To make sure that I did it right this time, two days later I accessed the website again, and it said that the payment went through. But in October, I received a 888- phone call and then a message said that I didn't pay my bill with Banana. When I called customer services number, requested them to provide me information on when was the last time I accessed the system (I know that customer service / or Banana's outsourced call center company is able to check this information on its system), their staff could not answer and tried to persuade me that I didn't make my payment! Together with my 2-month late fee, now I owed Banana the total amount of $89.40.
Disappointed, surprised and even angry with myself for the silly mistake, I requested their staff to send paper billing statement. Meanwhile, I went to Banana's online system again to do it at that night with the full amount of $89.4 in hope that I can get rid of this inconvenient experience right away. The system received my payment, acknowledged. To make sure 100%, or even 200% this time ;((, I checked the website continuously every day for a week. The system still showed my payment went through, however, it also I owed the company the same amount of $89.4 for my next billing cycle! Done! I know for sure that the system was messed up.
I called the customer service number right away after figuring out this and asked them what the problem is. So funny in their system, they didn't see my payment of $89.4. When I explained everything to their staff, they showed negative response that forced me to request to speak to upper manager. With my persistence of asking to speak to upper manager, that staff after 10 minutes of keeping saying that there was no manager (!!!???) finally got me through his manager. After telling him again the story, the manager told me that he could help me make payment online without the fee (?) (In fact, customer could call and ask their staff directly to make payment if they agreed to pay a certain % on billing value for that service). At the highest level of disappointment in Banana's credit system when they try to rip off customers at any occasion by having unreliable online payment system and unprofessional customer service staff.
The story didn't end! I still had my reward coupon of $20 that I would like to redeem on Black Friday this year. When I brought it up to pay for my accessory, the store cashier let me know that I could not use the reward coupon without my Banana credit card (which I have never wanted after all). The funniest thing that, when I decided to use that, I was also informed that the system said that my credit card was terminated some time agoooo!!!
My good impression about Banana Republic and their brand totally collapsed on that day! While I quite know that customers should separate the service and experience of Banana Republic outlets with those of the Banana’s credit company, I am really not satisfied with the way the company manage their brand, their services in the whole package under Banana Republic’s Brand Name. Good bye” Banana" Services!
