I wanted to confirm that we’re aware of the issues that many of you have been experiencing with pending transactions (italicized/gray transactions), and apologize for the frustration and inconvenience. We know it causes issues with budgeting and calculations, and truly appreciate your patience as we work toward resolution.
There are multiple cases where these pending transactions aren't clearing, which will require several fixes on the backend to resolve. The good news is that we have already begun to deploy fixes for this. The next step is to run a script so that budgets are recalculated. We’ll continue to ‘clean up’ on the backend to prevent this from continuing to happen.
The most common issues with pending transactions are: "stuck" pending transactions (old ones that are not reconciling with posted transactions), pending transactions that are debits but show as credits and vice versa, and duplicate pending transactions.
Essentially, we have to improve the logic behind how these pending transactions are reconciled with posted transactions. A few specific cases where the current logic is failing are:
- If you've edited pending transactions
- Some financial institutions show "hold" transactions, which are handled as pending on our end
- When a pending transaction and the posted transactions have different amounts (e.g. Some pending transactions do not include tip, but the posted transactions do)
We'll post updates as we get them. Thanks again for your continued patience as we work to resolve this issue.

UPDATE - 4/5/11
We've run another script to remove pending transactions, so hopefully most of you don't see them anymore.
For those of you who do, we also just released a feature that will allow you to delete edited pending transactions (which I see some of you have already discovered).
If you make an edit to the pending transaction (such as typing in a note or "excluding from Mint") you can now go back to "edit details" for that transaction and you should see a link below the notes section that says "delete this transaction" - which will remove the transaction.
Hope this helps to alleviate some of the frustration out there!

I've got four stuck charges that are not only stuck, but have duplicates which have cleared. The four charges are all form my Chase credit card and are from four and two weeks ago.

Same here. I've got stuck pending ATM transactions since Aug. Opened a couple tickets with no luck...

I have around 20 stuck charges. My only guess is that I tried to edit them while in pending mode.

I am having MAJOR issues with this right now. Nothing has cleared for the past week, everything is still pending. Please help.

This is ridiculous. I have been using Mint for over 2 years and (until now) have loved it. But now I have transactions that have been stuck as "pending" since July 24th and Mint has been aware of this issue for over 8 months now. I would really like to hear a status update on the development of a fix for this.

I am not having a problem with stuck transactions. I have not had this problem before.

I have this same problem and I have an email into support, but for what it's worth, I'm able to see my transactions correctly by doing the following:
1. Click on a Budget item (Mortgage & Rent, for example)
2. Remove the Filter for 'Categorized under mortgage & rent'
This doesn't help with the trends and overall calculation issues, but you can split and recategorize your items as needed. -

Had a problem with FIA credit card updating for 3 days and now after it started working again I have 5 transactions showing as pending (there are separate entries where they have posted already). I was able to mark them as duplicate but they continue to show. Can you give the user the ability to remove the transactions?

This appears to be getting better for me though I'm still having to delete transactions occasionally. I am still seeing this happen with descriptions that change between the pending transaction and the final transaction. I'm not sure why but one specific company I do business with shows up with one description when pending, and when the charge clears they show up with a different description. The amount is the same and I did not make any edits.

I've used the 'Delete Transaction' command when I have hung transactions, and it has helped to keep them from piling up. I did notice that when I split a transaction while it was still pending, I lost the ability to delete the hung transactions. Is there any other way to delete them now that there is no 'Delete Transaction' link?

I don't want to delete the transactions... it will mess up all of the accounting!! I want them to process just like they do on normal transactions. PLEASE FIX!

Haven't had any of these recently but still have a pile of these (all or almost all from American Express) from last May and June that I'm finally going through and deleting. I just want to add that these transactions are NOT listed as pending on the amex website so I'm really baffled as to why they are still being listed as such.

When will this be fixed? When will this be fixed?
