Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes.
This is the error message I get when I try to connect my post-April 1-flustercuck Vanguard account to my pre-April 1-flustercuck Vanguard account.
This used to say a different error message. I guess Intuit's solution was to change the error message and not fix the problem.
WORST DATA TRANSITION EVER.
PLEASE FIX THIS. SO SUPER PISSED RIGHT NOW.
If this is a scheme to get me to switch to Quicken, INTUIT I WILL NOT BUY YOUR PRODUCTS. EVER.
Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes.

My accounts (and their balances!) at a local credit union have been duplicated for over a week now. Is there any prospect of getting this fixed, say, THIS MONTH? I've seen some of the other threads here where people have issues that remain unfixed almost a year later.
I agree that this definitely doesn't make me interested in paying for Intuit anything.
Fix it, guys. This is a super basic issue and you should have seen this coming way before April 1. I left Wesabe over similar issues and I don't want to have to leave Mint too. -

I am very sorry for the frustration this transition has caused you.
You are receiving the error message because you are attempting to refresh while the back-end is still doing link analysis. Please give it a few seconds longer so it can complete the analysis.
RHITMrB - We are aware of this issue causing some users to see duplicate accounts (and this duplicate transactions). We're very sorry for the inconvenience this is causing, we hope to have the issue resolved ASAP.
Thank you,

Over a month for me too. Guess I should wait a few seconds more, right?
-
-
-
-
The problem is that it doesn't seem to matter how long I wait to try linking after my accounts refresh. "A few seconds longer" definitely isn't enough, nor is "a few minutes" like in the error message.

My credit card at the SAME BANK linked just fine, by the way. Why would the checking & savings accounts, again from the SAME BANK, be any different?

Yes, you are correct. My apologies for misunderstanding.

3 hours later...looks like the 'link analysis' is still chugging along. Man, I wonder what complex arithmetic is being done to evaluate whether or not "X Retirement Plan" matches with "X Retirement Plan". Good thing there's such a crack team of INTUIT employees working on this, I WAS WORRIED THERE FOR A SECOND.
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
If only we had a robust IPO market in the US so that good companies like the FORMER MINT TEAM could remain independent instead of being acquired by horrible incumbent firms like INTUIT, MAKERS OF QUICKEN, ie. THE FOR-PAY SOFTWARE THAT WAS THREATENED BY THE EXISTENCE OF MINT.COM. -
-
@Jami - I'm having this with BofA; it's not a matter of 'seconds', it's a matter of 'broken'. You've got some service which is in a wedged state and has locked those entries, so I can't update them.
Here's a SHOCKING thought; you should accept the linkage, and tell me:
'Our system is fubared right now, but once it comes back from the grave, we'll make the link between your accounts as you've asked us to do.'-
Agree. Also, I might note that this is still not fixed. I am no longer angry, but that's just because I've become a complete nihilist.
-
-
Thank you for fixing this; I appreciate that it's been resolved.
In the future, I hope this will help you think about how to communicate with customers, and maybe change your messaging and support comments around so it doesn't feel quite as dismissive. -

I even got a handy email this morning demonstrating how to re-link my accounts - made me think the error was resolved, but no matter how long I wait in between attempts on Wells Fargo accounts, I get the same message.
-
-
I'm getting the same error message when trying to link my inactive BofA accounts to my re-added BofA accounts. Waiting seconds, minutes, hours, even days, does not change the error message.
The re-added accounts have an error: "Duplicate account detected". If I try to "Fix It", it just asks for my login credentials again, reauthenticates, then gives the "Duplicate account detected" error again. Basically, "Fix It" doesn't appear to attempt to do anything appropriate for this particular error message.
If I try to link (you know, to alleviate the whole duplicate account thing), then I get the error "Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now."
So, if the error messages are to be believed: I can't link because the account can't connect, and the account can't connect because it's not linked.
Catch-22, anyone? -
-
Add me to the list of users experiencing this issue. It's not a matter of waiting - I've been "trying again" for a week. I'm just about to give up on Mint. Heck of a job, Intuit.

Same here. Its been a couple days and I can't link my PNC accounts.

same problem, with a chase account, with 2 checking acounts and a savings account in it.
stuck this way for 2 weeks now. because of this, the amount of money shown overall is like double what it should be.
most of my other accounts linked just fine, although i now also have a chase credit card account gone MIA... -
-
I let them know I had this issue and this is what I got. Like they don't know how I got this error and want me to waste my time creating a screen shot for the simple text error.

Thank you for contacting Mint.com.
This might be a temporary issue, please try again. If issue persist, in order to investigate and troubleshoot the issue, we need the following:
1. The specific steps (if any) that caused you to encounter the error.

Have Bank Of America accounts and also getting the "Oops we're busy" error when I try to relink.
-
-
It's so sad that I feel identified with every comment above! It's like I'm laughing, but pissed. I've been trying to link my PNC account without luck. It's infuriating that not only there's no hope for this to be fixed in a decent timeframe; but, that the message/pop screen is written in such a way that it looks like it's user error: so, are you blaming me of being impatient?
Now that this site looks like an open forum and no one is paying attention; do any of you suggest an alternative to Mint? -
-
Thanks for letting me know that this error message is persisting longer than the amount of time the analysis should take. I'll file a bug so this can be investigated.
Best,
Jami-
I'm having this problem too
-
-
I'm also experiencing the issue.
-
-
-
-
-
I also have this exact problem and have had this problem for days. Waiting and retrying doesn't help. I filed a bug but I only got an email saying that my problem was resolved - it wasn't resolved.
-
-
Agreed with bjwe and others. If a bug isn't fixed, why are the customers getting emails that it has been fixed? I got one of these emails last week. I was going to argue back, except the email does not have a link back to the original issue.... this is -1 on a scale of 0 to 10.
-
-
-
I’m
encouraged by the responses to my original post, but still annoyed that my account balances are duplicated
-
-
Jami, thank you for paying attention. It would also help if you keep us informed about the progress. Please let us know if your team has recognized a pattern (certain banks, accounts, etc). We wouldn't be writing in this forum if we didn't like the product.
iamchapo, thanks for the suggestion; but, that's an 'offline' software. What I find attractive about Mint, is the 'real-time' consolidation of statements from many sites, mobility (via phone, work computer, home pc, tablet, etc), with a nice presentation (Web 2.0) and the "appearance" of safety. -
-
This is rediculous. I have three Bank of america accounts having this issue. Now it appears that I have six accounts (3 original + 3 duplicate)!!! This must be a very common problem, and all it needs some attention!
-
-
HOLYCRAP!
It WORKED today!
Also, an account that went MIA reappeared in the list and wants to be linked. if i could only remember the login info for it... -
-
Wow, this is working today! Thanks Mint for working it out. Hopefully the reconnect issues will be settling down...

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you INTUIT. I am so relieved. <3
Sorry for all the insults. But you have to admit, this was a botch job. You might want to add less irritating error messages in the future, ones that seem less like the user is at fault... -

Hi,
I am now having this problem with a number of Fidelity accounts. It began after I unlinked my old Fidelity accounts from newly-added accounts in order to re-add those new accounts to correct a different issue. Did Mint fix this issue account-by-account, or did it correct itself after a few days/weeks of waiting?
Thanks.-
Ok, I fixed this by deleting then re-adding the offending new accounts. Not sure whether that will work for others.
-
-
This worked for me.
-
-
-
-
-
This problem is NOT fixed for me. I'm still getting the "...busy connecting to.." error.
It fixed my credit card accounts, but now my checking account is getting the error. Just like WJBrant, I unlinked it to try to fix another errorr, and now I can't re-link it.
GRRRR!!! I'm guessing they fixed it account-by-account, rather than actually fixing the underlying problem.-
i am still getting the "oops busy connecting..." message too
-
-
-
-
-
In my case, I have two accounts that aren't linked and result in the error. This has persisted for >48 hours. Both the inactive and active versions of the accounts have a current $0.00 balance. Could it be that the Minty code is getting the two mixed up and having a null/0 problem at the same time?
-
I can link all but 1 account. But they treat them all as a group so the account won't hide.
1 account has nothing in the drop down to link to. -
-

Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes. - for 5 days already. All my Chase and BofA accounts affected.Obviously some kind of DB/locked records problem.

Thanks for those of you who have confirmed that this bug has been resolved for you -- for other who are still reporting that you are seeing the error, I've let the team know.
I'll post back when I have an update.

Jami-
Having problems with Chase linking.

Definitely having this problem as well. Have multiple B of A accounts, but the only one's that giving me an issue is my auto loan. It's been like this for a couple of weeks (for awhile, it was giving me a different error message).
-
-
I too continue to receive the "Alert
Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes."
My Vanguard Brokerage Accounts linked right away with no problems.
My Regular Vanguard Accounts continue to get that error message no matter how long I wait and try to relink..... -
-
Same problem here. Two of my Bank of America accounts have had this error for the better part of a week now.
-
-
-
For you, maybe. Not for all of us.

I understand. I just want to make sure people are opening up a bug/case for each persons issue.
They can check your individual account. -

I am still seeing this issue "Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes." when I try to link my BOA CC account. This is after I deleted and added it again.

Same as above. Still see the same error.

I am now in week 2 of receiving this error message when trying to link duplicate BofA accounts. Was really happy with Mint and recommended to friends, now starting to shop around for alternatives in case not fixed soon

I am getting the same response with USAA accounts. It has been happening over several days, like others here.

Yes same for me with USAA Accounts.

Same with me, took months to even get my accounts to show back up (password glitch), but now I have to deal with this.

I have had this same problem for over a week. I should have known Mint was going to die a slow death after being purchased by intuit.
-
-
I'm in this boat now. All my inactive accounts have active matches, but 3 will not link, referencing this oops error.
I am guessing it is because the old accounts list "USAA" as the bank title and the new accounts list "USAA Bank" as the bank title.
Fix it up Mint! Thanks! -

Having this problem with some PNC accounts. Been happening for a week. Hoping this gets fixed soon because it's honestly quite frustrating to have multiple accounts/transactions that shouldn't be there.
-
Also having this issue, for PNC mortgage. And also with HSBC bank accounts. It's been a week at least.
-
-

In my opinion, everyone with such problems should delete your Mint account. Seems there has been no effort to fix it and all these duplicate and unlinked accounts renders Mint essentially useless.
-
they fixed mine but stopped responding to another issue.
if you delete your accounts you lose the history of transactions
better to open another account with another email -

Update - 3 USAA accounts still give the "Oops" Error.
Created a new case, and the responder said to use the link dropdown on the new account card to link to the old account. I responded that I had already done that, that's how I got the "Oops" error. Hopefully they will fix.
To clarify, does it matter whether you click the link dropdown on the old card and pick the new account or click the link dropdown on the new card and pick the old account?-
I believe you have to do it from the inactive account - it has this message for it:
"Now that you've reconnected this account, link for a seamless transaction history. We'll hide this inactive account when you're done." -
-
-
-
-
"Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes."
No luck even after hours! -

I have had the same frustrating issue as those mentioned above with my US Bank accounts and have had it for weeks now. This is how my wife and I manage our finances and having such a terrible mess of things doesn't just create an inconvenience. This is now a crippling error that will force us to leave Mint and start everything from scratch.
Please give me some sort of response other than "we're working on it", "sorry for the inconvenience" or "This has been submitted to our development team." Fess up that you're having an BIG PROBLEM, give me a taste of what you've discovered and then provide me with some ray of hope and potential time frame of resolution. (Not just "soon...", "Soon" was 16 days ago.)-
I just discovered that somewhere in the process of "transition" a duplicate account had been created for US Bank. I had 3 US Banks, I had my old account (which was now inactive but not linked), my new account (which was now active but not linked to my past history) and then I had another account that was just a duplicate.
Anyone out there frustrated, irritated, furious or disappointed may check for excess accounts.
Thanks Mint/Intuit but I found the answer on my own. -

I have had this problem for nearly a month - waiting patiently but unable to get my multiple BofA accounts to link. Items are duplicated...my whole net worth, expenses, income...you name it is duplicated as far back as I can see- but not everything is duplicated making it a nightmare to pick out the repeat records. Have been waiting for nearly a month for the "oops" error to be fixed and still no end in sight. This is very frustrating and reflects poorly on mint.com which previously was a well functioning website.
Would appreciate any update on bug fixes for this problem; specifically for multiple BofA accounts. -
-
Same problem. Happened when I had to change passwords on my eTrade account. It stayed that way for a while because I usually only use Mint.com on the Mint.com iPhone App, which wouldn't let me update the password. When I finally got around to changing the eTrade password on Mint.com I got this error:
Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes.
I waited a day and got the same error. Doesn't seem like it will go away. -
-
I too have been waiting, not seconds or minutes or even weeks, but at least a month now (but still trying at least once a week).
And Mint doesn't allow for linking the "new" CD to the existing CD. I also have one "new" loan that I cannot link to the existing loan.
I am seriously thinking of going back to Yodlee. -
-
I'm getting the same error message on all of my USAA accounts. Everything else appeared to link fine.
-
-
Same thing here. I used to have my business account inactive where it was hiding all my transactions and now that this linking thing is required I'm seeing all my transactions! There is no option to mark the account closed.
All my budgetting numbers are messed up. It got bad enough that yesterday I told myself I would just nuke all my accounts and set them up again...you can't even do this. they are grayed out with no way of removing the inactive accounts. wow!
You guys really need to look into your development team's ability to test and roll out these new features. The old method of linking to our accounts was way better than this mess. -
-
Still have 3 USAA accounts that give the OOps error when linking.
-
-
I have patiently waited for 3 days....but I am getting same issue. This must be embarrassing for your IT. It is not like you store all the data on your server anyway so how can you screw this up. From what I see its simple architecture with great code and servers behind it. Guys do you even test your systems before rolling out the updates. TEST YOUR SYSTEMS DAMN IT , not in production though :D. I have same issues with my bank of america accounts. Please have this fixed ASAP. This is making me think twice about MINT ..for last 2 years I have been super happy but I do not know. You should know that this is not some email system which can go up and down and can have bugs like this, this is financial data. We all rely heavily on this to plan our finances and pay bills and stuff.
-
-
I have duplicate records and in account setting, some inactive accounts to be linked , when I tried to link, it says, opps!... for a week.
I am getting tired of this. I did not do anything and it happened in the backend.
Please fix it for me.
Thanks -

Day 27 - 3 Accounts still unable to link, Emails to support representatives go unanswered (following of course the standard auto-response, and the generic directions that obviously indicate that the support rep did not read the description of the problem) and April is almost over.
Please COMMUNICATE, please FIX. -

they must be overwhelmed with people having issues since they aren't responding

Hello all,
We had released a fix that we believe address this for some, but we're aware that many of you are still seeing the message. We're continuing to work to resolve this issue. I'll let you know once we have so you can re-attempt to link your accounts.
Thank you for your continued patience, and we're very sorry for the inconvenience.
Best,

This issue is continuing to make me feel (frowny face) with my US Bank accounts.
-
-
-
-
Update - Be careful if you try this, make sure you are performing the correct operation on the correct accounts.
I started off with 5 accounts with USAA on 3 account cards. When I reconnected, mint put all 5 accounts on 1 card, 2 accounts linked automatically, 3 gave the oops error.
I unlinked the 2 that were working and deleted the NEW account presence, keeping the inactive accounts and all my history.
I then re-added the NEW account presence and all 5 were able to link properly.
I still have two extra account cards that show inactive and have a reconnect button, even though the accounts on these cards are already linked, but I'll take it, because now all the numbers look right, and the new accounts are finally downloading.-
Unlinked the new accounts (as of 4 weeks ago). Had my 4 US Bank inactive accounts in the list (2 that were linked before, 2 that gave the error). Deleted the new US Bank instance and re-created fresh. Proceeded to link the new to the inactive and problem accounts are now gone. Thanks!
-
-
I was a little afraid to try it, but I was so frustrated that I finally tried and ... this actually worked for me, too!
One problem does remain, though: I had a previously-closed BofA savings account in my inactive card, and I think Mint doesn't know what to do with it. That card doesn't auto-hide like the other one did because there is no current account to link it to. -
-
-

Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes.

Today (Saturday, April 30, 2011), my Bank of America accounts finally linked without having to delete and restore them. For the first time, I did not receive the "oops" message.
-

I would like to add to this thread that I've been encountering the same problem with one of my 5 First National Bank of Omaha accounts for several weeks. Please let me know how to resolve this issue.
Alert
Oops! We're busy connecting to this account right now. Please try linking again in few minutes. -
-
My issues also appear to be fixed as of yesterday, 4/30 . . . it wasn't exactly clean, and I still ended up having to hide some accounts rather than linking them, but I don't have any outstanding errors any more.
In the "for what it's worth" category, I would definitely be willing to pay a fee for more responsive customer service and some decent programmers that managed transitions like this one more smoothly. I'm all for continuous improvement, but it seems like this change wasn't tested nearly as rigorously as it should've been. -
-
mine is fixed! it said "it may not look like it but the account is linked" and it was.

Update to my prior comment****
I was finally able to link all 5 of my "inactive" Bank of America accounts to the new Bank of America accounts....unfortunately when I did that, I lost more than 3 years of Data!!! Everyone out there be warned - when you link your accounts you risk losing all of your financial transaction records! I am now officially done with mint.com due to its unreliable data storage.
I have since purchased a hard copy of a software package to run my finances with hard back-up capabilities on my desktop. Yes I am starting from scratch but this unfortunate turn of events from mint.com makes it as good a time as any to hit the "reset button."
This experience has made me realize the risk of using the "cloud" for data storage (no place to back-up) and the risk of using a free service like mint (no access to customer service and they really have no responsibility to us as consumers - we choose to use them as a free service at our own risk). Sad but true.
My advice would be to ditch mint.com - they clearly are running a product that is not capable of managing sensitive data like your personal finances. I learned the hard way.
Consider yourself warned!!! Jami your comments are welcome on this matter as the discussion moderator. -
-
Hello all,
I see mixed responses as to whether or not this issue has been resolved. As of Friday morning, all issues should have been resolved.
Please attempt to link your inactive accounts to the newly added accounts once again and let me know if you continue to see an error. If for some reason, you now see a new error, different than the one posted in the original post, please let me know.
Thank you!

I am still getting that message. Before the conversion, I had three Chase accounts, one for my deposit accounts, one for my credit card accounts and another for my HELOC. I tried to set up my HELOC and it created another account for all my deposit and credit card accounts. And the conversion left me with three inactive accounts. And I get the oops message when I try to link those accounts to my active accounts.
I have considered deleting the two new accounts and starting over again but I'm afraid I will lose my history, which goes back to 2007.
I don't know what to do except leave it like it is and give up on trying to set up my HELOC (which by the way, is shown as www.mortgage02.chase.com which I've never seen before).-
Hi RobertWy - thanks for your note. We're aware that some users are still encountering issues when attempting to link different account sub-types and we're continuing to work on this. Please continue to bear with us.
Thanks! -

Jami. I have the same problem now with my BOA account and BOA credit card account. Please help resolve the issue. Many thanks.

This just started with me on my PNC accounts. I noticed a bunch of transactions were missing from trends through april 2011 (about a year's worth) - but not all transactions were missing (and no, there were no hidden transactions, no tags, and no hidden accounts). All the transactions randomly missing from trends were in the transaction detail though. Then I unlinked accounts, and the transactions showed up.
Then I relinked and now everything is duplicated, and there are about 40 transactions from months ago that now show up as the most recent transactions all showing a status of pending. And a whole bunch of transactions are all duplicated randomly for over a year. It is a total mess.
Now, I cannot unlink or change any linking because it gives me the "Oops" message, and I have been getting that message for over a week.
BTW, I am trying to link 3 sets of accounts. National City (acquired by PNC) linked to PNC before you guys changed your bank access in April linked to PNC after you changed your bank access. -
