Mint.com now supports almost all major Canadian banks for aggregation. It's not truly Canada ready (no Toronto stock feeds, cheque is spelled check, and you might get 401k & 529 suggestions which apply only to the U.S.).
But, in short, Mint Canada is quietly open...

At this point you can't even download the app from the Canadian iTunes app store; you have to "pretend" you are from the USA both in the application process for Mint, and in choosing the US app store from Apple.

Yes! Pretty please!
I've just signed up... will I still be able to use at least some of the features on this website? -

From the responses on other threads they've been working on a Canada solution for years with no progress. Could be privacy legislation up here, but they are not saying. Whatever it is they stopped replying to query's over a year ago.
Other posters gave wesabe.com or geezeo.com as possible alternatives. I have not checked them myself yet -

Hello all,
Mint currently only supports US-based financial institutions. We hope to support financial institutions based outside of the US in the future.
We'll let you know when this changes. In the meantime, we appreciate your patience!

A few reasons that mint may not work on Canadian banks.
This applies to Canada Trust & Royal Bank, others I am assuming are similar. All banks would have to be on board with the same system just to start getting the process working and thats not the current one.
You cannot have your card number or card id on auto complete as the mint computer would fill that in. Now it puts in the password and so far so good, but wait, the computer needs to accept cookies because if the bank does not recognize the computer (needs both proper cookie and same ip), it will go into a secondary personal verification stage.
On this secondary stage it will randomly ask you one of three personal verification questions that you set up when originally registering, Mothers maiden name, dogs name etc.
The computer has no way of knowing the proper answer because it does not know which question, so it may put in the first answer (that you supplied mint). If that s not it then another question will be asked (again hit or miss) after 3 tries the account locks and you need to call bank to unlock and then again go through the login process.
So in addition to not working without cookies the chances of guessing the right secondary answer correct is roughly 1 in 729 times, thats 243 account lockouts.
That and the fact that you are supplying mint with ALL your card numbers and passwords and secondary personal verification info to carry all in one spot, I am sure they have a diff system in the states but right now that would be a scary situation up here.
The other info floating around out there is that Interact, (maybe with intuit) along with the big five banks and quite a few credit unions are working on their own mint type software and so it is in their best interests to not have mint work.-
First, Intuit bought Mint.com and stopped new registrations on their own system so why they would create a third system?
And second, Desjardins (Caisses Desjardins du Québec et caisses populaires de l'Ontario) is working on mint when you are on the Yodlee backend despite the fact that Desjardins website ask for one of the three question you put. -

Just some thoughts, I believe it was mint that bought intuit no? Either way with the across country connections now and with rumors of Interact and the big five Canadian banks are working on something other than mint. Maybe this together is something we've been waiting for?

Based on what I am reading hear and in other threads it looks as if the big 5 Chartered banks are supported so far. Again, this appears to be a work in progress as Aaron said above. There are bugs and other issues to work out yet (RRSP, Canadian Investments, French language, non chartered banks like HSBC retail services, mbna, etc) but the soft - quiet - launch is here. I think this is a great chance to provide constructive feedback so Mint.com can build a "wish list" for it's Canadian customers needs.
For example i can't seem to add my National Student Loan or car loan. Though I am keen to help improve this service. -
-
Can you please list which "almost all major" banks you do include?
-
-
-

Yes! TD Visa and PC Financial Savings/Checking works!
Can't figure out how integrate the mortgage into the equation, but this is GREAT news, thank you!-
I can't connect to PC financial. how did you do it?

HSBC Canada is not supported as far as I can see, and the customer service rep I talked to today said that a) she had no idea what the heck was Mint.com, and b) that their is definitely no support from HSBC Canada for Mint.
This sucks. -

Same problem here: no support for Scotiabank (even though you've got the US equivalents to Scotiabank already supported). Seems like Canadian support really hasn't been well thought out. Why can't you modify the sign up to allow Canadian addresses? How come to big banks like Scotia and Desjardins aren't added in? Why do we get 401K/529 suggestions when they don't apply here? I'm just disappointed that something lots of people have been waiting for has really only been partially supported, and to make matters worse, the tool that we've been stuck using (QuickenOnline) is being discontinued even before the same functionality is ported over to mint.com. It's not instilling confidence in your potential international users...
-
And regarding the 401k suggestions - read the top comment. It's clearly stated that Mint Canada is not official launched - that it's quietly open, so that, I assume, they can get everything in order until they officially launch.
-
-
-
-
-
-
With regards to "quietly open" - they shouldn't be sending emails to QuickenOnline users telling us to migrate to Mint.com while telling us our accounts are going to be deleted until they've got things sorted out. This is the second time in under a year I've got the "QuickenOnline is closing" email, only to find out that they've missed porting major functionality over to Mint.com. I'm not normally one to complain about things like this, but it all seems rushed, unplanned, and quite frankly, unprofessional. It's not what I've come to expect from all the great things I've heard about Mint.com.

How can Mint.com reconcile asking for bank card info and passwords when
the Electronic Access Agreement sez....
PART B: PASSWORDS, INSTRUCTIONS AND E-MAIL
Passwords: You agree to keep your Passwords absolutely confidential; they are for your use alone. You will not tell anyone else (including a close family member, a friend or any bank or public official) what your Password is. You must carefully select your Passwords so that they cannot be easily guessed by anyone else. When choosing a Password, you must not use:
Your name or a close relative's name
Your birth date, year of birth, telephone number or address, or a close relative's
Your Bank Card number or User ID
Your Account number or credit card number
A number on any ID card you keep with your Bank Card or in your purse or wallet (such as your SIN or driver's license number)
Any other number which can be easily obtained or guessed by someone else, or
A password you use for any other service.
You should memorize your Passwords rather than keep any written record of them. However, if you decide that you truly need to keep a written record, you agree that:
You will not record your Password on, or in close proximity to your Bank Card or the record of your User ID. (For example, if you put your Bank Card in your wallet or purse or a drawer, you will not keep a record of your Password there too.)
Your Password must be disguised within the written record you make so that no else can easily guess that it is a record of your Password.
You will not record your Password electronically on your computer in any way, and you will not store your Password near your computer (for example, on a sticky note placed on the edge of your monitor screen).
If we send you a Password, you will destroy the document on which it is printed.
AND.....
Responsibility for Losses: You are responsible for any Losses that result from your own use of your Bank Card or User ID and your Passwords, or from any use by a person that you authorized (contrary to Section 5) to use your Bank Card or User ID and your Passwords. You are also responsible for any Losses that result if:
You make an entry error when using Online Banking or Wealth Management Online
You claim that an Account or Service was accessed by someone else but you do not co-operate fully in an investigation by us or the authorities, or
Someone else uses your Bank Card or User ID without your authority but your actions (or inaction) contribute to that unauthorized use.
You acknowledge that the amount of Losses for which you may be held liable is not limited to the Account balance if the Account has overdraft or similar protection, or by your credit limit if it is a credit card Account or loan Account.- view 12 more comments

"....and I will be using Quicken... For Mac."
Not available in Canada. -
-
This is nothing but typical legal language used to protect the company. Banks use it, mint uses it, even my own employer uses it. Basically it translates - in reality - into "If you give this information out, we are not liable for what happens, you were warned!"
My PIN, my bankcard number, my online password are MY data, if I stupidly give it away to an untrusted source. What happens with my account is not the banks problem. It's my problem. -

Still waiting for Desjardins (Caisses Desjardins du Québec et caisses populaires de l'Ontario) and HSBC retail services Canada. I was SO happy to see the Mint app come up on the Android Market Place.

What about support for ING Direct Canada (currently only ING Direct US seems supported). Let us know if this one gets added to the list of supported institutions.

Jezreel, Official Rep, replied today on a diff thread.;
Hello Minters,
If you were able to access a Canadian financial institution via Quicken Online you can now access the same Canadian financial institution on Mint.com. Please note, however, that dollar values are not converted to US dollars and you will see transaction and balance amounts in values as they appear on your Canadian online financial institution site. Please be aware of this when setting up your Alert preferences, especially if you use both US dollar and CA dollar based online banking sites in Mint.com.-
My Vancity accounts do not appear in mint.com but they are available via Quicken Online: www.vancity.com and www.myvisaaccount.com (Vancity VISA).

When I requested that Desjardins be added to the list of supported banks, I received this email:
-----
Thanks for submitting your request for Caisses Desjardins du Quebec.
Mint currently only supports US institutions, but you will be the first to know when we come to Canada.
------
That's the standard reply for Mint on international banks, even before they started incorporating Canadian banks. It's probably still saying that because Canadian support isn't "officially" here yet.
-
-
-
-
-
Also submitted Vancity as a bank I wanted added. Nothing yet.

Can Mint please supply a list of Canadian banks that are supported. I've just wasted yet more time based on Aarons comments trying to set it up, but STILL no HSBC Canada, no desjardins and looking at the comments here and on other forums Mint is still far from ready to be used here. .
As many have commented, you still need a US zip. This isn't 'quietly working' but more of a backdoor fudge that is playing games with my financial data.
PLEASE sort this out ASAP, the service sounds superb but my finances can't wait much longer!!! -
-
You think they even read this? Look at the top of the thread.
"The company marked this question as answered."
Then a vague statement that says nothing about any 'solid' working Canadian platform. and in fact even says "It's not truly Canada ready"
then
" The company says this answers the question "
You won't get a 'complete' answer until they get all the bugs worked out, and considering they have been working on getting them worked out for 2 plus years now I wouldn't hold my breath.
If I'm wrong then awesome, if not then same ole same ole. -
-
Anyone know how to add a capital one credit card? It's clearly supported but it won't accept my Canadian login id.

MINT looks to be rather dipsy doodling here, not very good for the corporate image. Please give support including sign up and responsiveness to requests for missing institutions (eg amex) or withdraw the misleading comment that Mint now does support Canada.
-
They didn't come out and say they officially support Canada - they said it's unofficially open. Meaning that, there's still work to be done.
Unsupported institutions are a common problem anyway - for the longest time there were thousands of American bank and credit card institutions that weren't supported. -
-
-
-
-
Please add support for the many Provincial networks of credit unions in Canada such as https://www6.memberdirect.net/brand/c... It sucks to be left out of mint.com just because we're not with one of the major banks in Canada. Also, Capital One Credit Cards issued in Canada do not work on the website. :(
-
-
Please add support for Caisses Desjardins Quebec/Ontario
-
-
I concur, mint.com should have a Canadian version of the site which links in to Credit Unions. I hate major banks and love my CU, but services like this and many others (Pay Pal, Certapay, etc.) also make it difficult for credit unions. I love the idea of mint.com but it's features are limited to me because of this.
-
-
Hi guys-
The Mint global team has been working behind the scenes to take your comments into action. Some things like true postal codes for Canadians are complete, while others, like support for certain accounts and credit unions are in the queue.
We do hear you & are going to try and make Mint great for all users - no matter where you live and bank!
Cheers!- view 1 more comment

Thanks, Kristina! We Canadians really appreciate it!
I also hope that some time the suggestions that you give us for saving money, getting a credit score, retirement planning, and all the rest, actually are meaningful to us. Most of the stuff we see now is very US-centric (services that only work in the US, 401Ks instead of RRSPs, stuff involving Medical Insurance, etc.) When the calls to action are more meaningful, then Canadians will actually provide some revenue to Mint in return for their support of Canadian users. -
-
Thanks for all your efforts. My bank (Desjardins) is supported on the website, things seem to be working nicely. But when will I be able to access the Mint Android application from the canadian Android Market?
The only 2 applications I really wanted from an Android phone are not available for Canada, Mint and Mobile Defense.-

Hope this helps.

I'm really happy that you now support Desjardins! My mint account is starting to look good with some data in it!
Unfortunately, Desjardins support is incomplete since you don't support their VISA Credit Card. It's available from the same portal as the checking/savings account. They also offer investments but I'm not using them.
Also, ING Direct Canada started offering checking accounts, I'm one of the early adopters but it's not showing this new account in Mint...-
Hey Desjardins credit cards are now supported!! I'm stoked!! :D

My BMO mastercard account doesn't want to connect. Looks like a login issue: you can sign in with your bankcard, but not with your credit card.

Having the same issue. When i try to link to my BMO (Mosaik) credit card i get a invalid credentials type error. I can log onto the bmo website with no issues. My guess is the prefix that is being added to my last 10 digits is different then the numbers on my card. That is just my guess though. I hope this gets resolved soon!

I'm using mint regularly with my accounts and I'm really happy with it! :)
A small problem though:
I have a credit margin at ING Direct and while mint retrieves it, the "Total credit" and "Available credit" values are negative. This keeps giving me alerts that I'm over my credit limit, which is not the case. -
-
Mint sucks. They over-promise and under-deliver. Beware if you have any issues with this software as there is NO SUPPORT. And what's worse, they pretend to have support.
When I began updating my portfolio, my RBC accounts updated effortlessly but my TD Canada Trust portfolio won't update. I have no idea why and I can't find out what the problem is.
