With the recent change to allow you to change the category of pending transactions, any pending transaction from my Wells Fargo checking account that I change the category remains pending forever - even after it clears and shows up as a regular transaction in Mint!
While I have been able to mark the still pending versions as duplicates so they don't screw up my budget, they continue to stay at the top of my transactions, continually reminding me of the problem. For now, my only workaround has been to not categorize anything til it clears.

This is definitely annoying. The pending transactions coming from Amex continue to be a problem. I don't know why Mint insists on picking up pending transactions from Amex, it should only be picking up CLEARED transactions. Asking us to mark them as duplicate is a backwards solution. And having these pending transaction show up at the top of your transaction list forever is annoying.

The uptick in number of quality problems lately has been pretty astounding - this is a perfect example (which I'm experiencing as well).
If you're one of the many of us experiencing multiple issues at the same time (I think I have ~4 issues day-to-day with Mint at this point), please give the thread below a bump (comment).
I really feel at this point Mint needs to make a concerted effort to improve quality. It's hard to leave (after investing years of organization), but damn I'm getting close to trying to find another solution.

Same problem here. Maybe disallow editing of pending transactions if it causes so much trouble? At least until you get this fixed.

Why does mint not allow me to delete a transaction. These are my records and I should have control of how I choose to view them.
I am getting frustrated with the power struggle between users and developer. I will not purchase a product until this is corrected.
Is there better software that maintains the principals Mint was founded on before Turbo Tax took over??? -

Mint get on this. Your services have been extremely buggy for me, and it looks like many others, lately. Time to find another service? I think so. Saw Yodlee mentioned, and am looking into it, looks even more functional than Mint on a cursory overview.

I was hopeful that Intuit wouldn't destroy the beauty of mint...but continued problems like this and others I have had very recently, and more specifically the time it takes to fix them, makes it clear that Intuit is sucking the life out of Mint.

I currently have over 40 pending transactions dating back to mid-September 2010. I've checked most (though not all- who has that much time to waste), and the transactions have cleared but the pending posts remain. I love Mint for so much of what it does, but this is incredibly aggravating. The original post for this thread is 11 months old. Where's the fix???

It's really astounding how long it is taking to fix such a fundamental and critical bug. What do the engineers do all day if not address the biggest issues with their service?

Which ones, Schnitz? Missing ING Direct transactions? No, still outstanding for many users like myself since October. Inability to pull in New York Life Cash Value policies? Never but they're "working on it." Those are just a couple of the ones I know about. Also, employees used to come here to let us know the progress and keep contact (aka providing customer service) with their users. Nice try, off-the-clock Mint.com engineer.

My attempt at irony fell flat. Such is irony. I've got a few that are, to me, more important than this one, but are getting the same inadequate response. Duplicate accounts. Transactions from closed accounts. No update from (some) Chase accounts. I'm actively shopping for an alternative.

Hey everybody, I was just able to get my duplicate pending transactions to go away...no thanks to anybody at Mint.
As others have posted, it seems to have something to do with when you change the transaction category before it posts. So, with all of my endlessly pending items, I opened the details and clicked the little "revert your changes to this transaction" section and then updated my account. All of the old pendings went away.
So, issue is resolved for me, but again, no thanks to Mint or Inblewit.- view 3 more comments

This didn't help me.. *la sigh*

Worked for me as well. Link is at bottom of the transactions "details" pane, where we change the name and/or category. I hope this comment stays visible to those who find this problem later. Thanks wingtipwalker.

Ah, using the revert changes option and updating all accounts worked for me as well! Now if only I wasn't missing random transactions for the last two months my budgets would mean something...

If this is not fixed soon (i.e., 1-2 weeks), I will seriously consider leaving Mint.
