Can't Connect to Gap Credit Card
I added a new credit cart to my account, from Gap. I found the bank no problem, but Mint still can't connect. I've double and triple checked my login credentials.
-
Mint's URL for GAP credit services appears to be invalid. Mine keeps referencing http://www.gap.com/onlinestore/gap/ but the gap login page is https://www3.onlinecreditcenter6.com/...

I have this same problem. My Gap credit card will not update. I've checked and rechecked my sign in and password.

Hi nickyking,
Here is the update from our engineering team.
"We found discrepany with Password. The end site is displaying error message "Enter the password in correct format". Please ask the customer to update the password in Mint application as updated at the end site. This should resolve the problem."
Please let me know if you have question in this regards. -

Anybody had any luck getting their Gap Credit Card to work? Out of all the checking, savings and credit card accounts I have, this is the only one that doesn't work in Mint!

Hi weinbergs,
Here is the update from our internal team regarding your issue with Gap Credit Card Account.
"Our understanding of the reported issue user is unable to Connect to Gap Credit Card in Mint.com.
Our initial investigation shows that the user id provided by the user is incorrect.
Please ask the user to recheck the login credentials and enter them at Mint.com while attempting to link this account."
If you find you are still experiencing issues, please let us know by replying below so we can investigate further.
We appreciate your patience as we worked to resolve this issue.
Best,

This isn't a username/password issue... Gap changed the link. Come on guys, this should be an easy fix.
-
Hi jeffofhearts,
Our internal team are still investigating on the reported issue. We will keep you posted for any updates from the internal team. Our apologies for the inconvenience. -
-
Why the automated response? "Our internal team are still investigating on the reported issue. We will keep you posted for any updates from the internal team. Our apologies for the inconvenience." Come on! Read our posts. YOU HAVE THE WRONG URL IN YOUR SYSTEM. It should not be www.gap.com!

Adding this note to all three open gap.com pages....
Gap recently transitioned a bunch of people from retail cards to VISAs. As such, there is a new redirect in the login process. This takes you to a page where the user has to choose which account to look at, the old one or the new one. This could potentially be why the issue is still occurring.
-
Hi jeffofhearts,
Here is the update from our internal team regarding your issue with Gap Credit Card.
"The investigation revealed discrepancy with the UserID updated in Mint application. When the agent tries to login, end site is displaying error message "The User ID you provided does not match our records". Please ask users to check the UserID at the end site and update the same in Mint application. This will resolve the problem."
If you find you are having an issue after doing the said update, please let me know so that I can forward this again to our internal team for further investigation. -

This has been going on for weeks now. I log into my Gap account every other day and it works perfectly! But mint cannot connect! This is very tiresome!
-
-
It got mine to work now... not sure what I did that made it work but this is what I did. I went back to my gap account (not thru mint) on the computer i will use for mint. It asked me the special login question. Then I went to mint and after I put in the account info it asked me for the special question. Then it worked- after I did it twice. I believe it wasn't working for me because (just my guess but don't know why for sure) I bought a new laptop and decided to sign up for mint. I had never logged on to my gap account from this new computer. I think my accounts needed to be recognized by this computer before it worked because I tried and tried with no luck until I logged in on this new computer then tried again...?!
-
-
I am having this problem also. I verified my login on Gap.com. My user ID and password match what is in my Mint.com account. I deleted and recreated the account and I am still not able to login via Mint.
-
-
It curious. Mine was working fine, then stopped suddenly. I wonder if they're changing things and it's flaking out.
-
-
I am also having this problem, I have tried to sign in multiple times and varified that my username and password are correct and mint says "Temporary issue connecting" for a week now.

Hi All,
For those users who are still having an issue with their GAP Account.
We have escalated this issue to our data engineers. Our apologies for the frustration this is causing. At the moment we're unable to give you an ETA on the fix but we will notify you when we have an update to share. -

Hi weinbergs,
Here is the latest update from our internal team.
"The investigation revealed discrepancy with the UserID updated in Mint application. When the agent tries to login, end site is displaying error message "The User ID you provided does not match our records". Please ask users to check the UserID at the end site and update the same in Mint application. This will resolve the problem."
Please let me know what happen.-
I have verified several times over that the user ID is correct. Note that the Gap credit card site uses an email address as user ID—could this be a problem with the way the Mint agent is encoding the email address?

Hi Maricon,
I verified my credentials and wasn't able to login to my Gap Card via Mint. The issue only began for me ~1 week ago. Until then, I was able to connect to it just fine.
Ed -
-
I too used to be able to access my Gap card just fine, then a week ago it stopped connecting. I deleted it and tried to re-add it thinking maybe that would work but it didn't. I hope this is fixed soon!
-
-
I've noticed that the GAP credit card site, upon first login from a new computer, requires that security questions be answered before a password can be entered. Is it perhaps the case that the Mint agent is encountering these questions and cannot proceed?
-
-
i'm having these same problems, and its insulting that the engineer's response in every issue is that you have a bad userid... no, i don't, your software isn't working correctly
-
-
I am experiencing issues with this same thing. My gap account use to update but now it does not so I tried to delete and re-add it several times. It just keeps telling me there is a temporary problem and to try again later. Any suggestions?
-
-
I'm switching over from Quicken Online where my Gap Credit Card showed up fine. However, in Mint, it won't connect despite multiple attempts to enter my username and password (correctly!)
-

-
-
It's been 3 weeks since my gap account has been able to update. I've done all the suggested trouble shooting and it still wont work.
Are there any other suggestions?? -
-
I had not had trouble accessing my gap account through Mint until about 1 week ago when it just stopped updating. I use my gap card for most of my purchases which means that for the past week virtually nothing new has posted to Mint. This needs to be fixed soon please for Mint have much of any use for me.
Thank you, -
-
I had no problems until three weeks ago, when my Gap account stopped updating. I am confident that the username and password are correct. Still not working!
-
-
My gap card did not work for several weeks, until about a week ago it started working again. As of today, it is no longer working. When I re-enter my bank info and hit save it fails after 5 seconds or so. Mint could we get an update?
-
-
I am also having the problem, for 2 weeks. I've verified my account info on Gap's website, tried changing it in Mint a few times, but still not updating.
-
-
I am having the same issue connecting to the gap account. Pls fix issue asap.
-
-
I must admit, the Mint employees are excellent at copying and pasting the same "login is incorrect" message. Your copying and pasting skills are superb! BUT if you would read these responses, we are telling you that we ARE using the correct login and have no trouble logging in to our Gap accounts directly. Maybe, just *maybe*, the problem is being caused by something else.
-
-
I have to agree with linbr. The response about the user name and password format is absolutely STUPID. I type the exact same name, in the exact same format into the gap credit card website and it works and logs me in. I use the exact same name and password, in the exact same format in MInt and it fails. THere is a very easy fix. Doesn't anyone that works for Mint have a gap credit card. If not, maybe you should get one to try with your product.
-
-
Same issue for me. It was working fine until about a week ago, I didn't do anything to make it stop working, didn't change my password, nothing. It's not the login info.... how many people have to say this before you listen?
-
-
It's been a week since the Gap account worked in Mint. Logging in directly to https://www3.onlinecreditcenter6.com/... works every single time, but in Mint, it fails almost immediately. Please fix this!!
-
-
this is so frustrating, i just went from having merrill lynch not update for a long time to having issues with gap now.. ugh.
-
-
I am joining the chorus of the last 10 or so posts. My gap card account used to sync just fine. Then a week or two ago it just stopped working. I can log in directly just fine. I have re-entered my login and password. c'mon mint!!

here is my hey "me too" post about Gap not working with Mint. I checked my credentials and I was able to login on the gap website. I have no idea how Mint connects to the sites but when i login it first has me enter my login name but no password on one webpage, it will verify I am a user and then it has me enter a security question on a new webpage, then on a third webpage I enter my password. Not sure if this would somehow mess up the Mint login processs. Although I also recall when I added the account it worked fine.

I'm having the same problem! I just added my Gap card this week and it hasn't worked once yet!

Hello,
We have known an issue affecting Gap.com credit card recently where users encounter "Temporary issue connecting" error in Mint.
Our data engineering team is currently working to resolve this issue.
Please see the most recent topic at Gap.com Credit Card Add and Update Issue.
We will post here or at the above topic as soon as we have an update on the status of the issue.
Our apologies for the inconvenience. Have a good day! -
-
Why does the "2" employees "helping" keep giving the automated response "Our internal team are still investigating on the reported issue. We will keep you posted for any updates from the internal team. Our apologies for the inconvenience." ?? Clearly you're not reading our comments. You have the wrong URL in your system for the Gap credit card. It should not be gap.com. That's a shopping site. Get with it.

Pardon my grammar and over-punctuation. Too frustrated to proof read, apparently.

I am having this problem as well. It's been weeks. I've tried to delete it and retry, doesn't make a difference.
-
-
Checking in to see if any effort has been made on Mint's part regarding this issue. No response via their Twitter accounts either -- Mint support just for show, apparently..? They seem to be able to copy/paste all the default support messages very well, but when it comes to actually accomplishing something.. hm.
-
-
maybe if mint had this url in their database eservice.gap.com it would "easy" to access .....

Hello,
Credit Card accounts powered by GE Money Bank has been disabled temporarily by one of our data aggregation providers. We are constantly in touch with GEMB to find a resolution to this issue.
We are sorry for the inconvenience. I will keep you updated on the progress.
Have a good day!-
Any update? I've been without transactions for over two months already. This is getting incredibly annoying.

Can you PLEASE fix this. It has been like this since I joined Mint.com

My account is intermittently updating, but I have to click the update button repeatedly to make it work.

I am also still having this problem....please help!!

Does anyone know if mint is aware that their earlier solution did not work? My card updated once a month ago and has not done so since.

Stops working for weeks at a time. What's the deal?

It stopped working over 4 months ago. No luck since then :|

Mine's updated twice now within the past day. All I have to do is click the account, and when the pop up screen comes up just hit try again and wait for it to update. Worked both times when I tried it tonight and last night.

I'm having the same problem. I'm trying to add my gap credit card...but it won't complete.

I too have been unable to get updates to my Gap and Banana Republic accounts through Mint. I am able to log in and get information directly through the Gap site BUT NOT THROUGH MINT FOR TWO MONTHS NOW. Can someone at Mint confirm a solution to this problem?

Please update on status because this account has had issues for months...

why is this still a problem? it's been months! it's ludacris...

Is this the gotcha to make us buy Quicken? I adore mint.com but this is starting to become a deal breaker. Please let us know what the current status is. If it's "no change" then please at the very least let us know that it's still on your mind.
thanks,

There are now five active topics dedicated to this issue with Gap Visa credit card (screenshot of the issues and links below):

One glaring issue with connectivity is that the site URL is incorrect. Instead of gap.com, it should be:
https://www3.onlinecreditcenter6.com/...
There maybe other issues encountered as well:
1) Logging into Gap prompts for a username first, then a password on a subsequent page.
2) Each time you login, you are presented with the option to add new cards. You need to press cancel on this page to get to your actual account information.
I understand that Mint leverage's Yodlee for some of its connectivity (and this is also a problem at Yodlee), but months and months of waiting on an issue that has over 600 posts when combined seems like a long time. I am going to post this in each of the five topics mentioned above.
P.S. It might be nice to merge these into a single topic so people are not confused as to which to follow. -

Just signed up to Mint to help me see my Gap card and Bank accounts on the same page! WOW! Would have never signed up if I knew this was going on! Fix the problem tech team!

hope they find a solution quickly, so many months already passed.

Here is the update from our engineering team.
"Our understanding of the reported issue is: User is getting error for Gap.com Credit Card account in Mint.
Since this is a MFA enabled site, user needs to initiate a manual update and provide the answers to the security questions in real time.
This will help the user to update the account and the process needs to be repeated until our data base learns all the security questions and answers and replies by itself."
If you will still experience any problems after doing so the said updates, please feel free to reply so we can investigate further.
Have a nice day!
Your current link is gap.com, which is an online shopping site. This should be an easy fix. A user alerted you of this over 3 months ago.
If this isn't the problem, as you state to the above user, then how do we initiate a manual update?
Our engineering team are already investigating on this issue. I will post an updates once we received an update from our internal team.
Our apologies for the inconvenience.
