Can't add Prudential Retirement 401k (https://www.retirement.prudential.com)
I'm trying to add my 401k. It's through Prudential Retirement, but it keeps returning a wrong username and password error. Everything is correct. Please help!

I’m
pleased to serve you!
To our users:
Please be informed that Mint currently uses two different back-end systems to aggregate financial data. One of those systems, the older one, currently supports Prudential Retirement Services, and the new one does not.
Your friend or someone you know may have added this financial institution in *their* Mint.com account which you can't find in *your* Mint.com yet. We'll soon be providing support for about 6,000 more banks and institutions for ALL Mint users but in the meantime, we are doing some testing to make sure everything is working to our standards here at Mint.com and Intuit.
Here's what you can do. First, please search for "prudential retirement" in the Add Account section of Mint.com. If you are on the older system, you will see this:
If you are on the system that do not support this option, for now, what you, as users, can do is to send us an Add Bank request. File with us a "Please support my financial institution!" at https://wwws.mint.com/contact.event/. Or click the link at the bottom of the Add Account page that says "request that we add your bank".
We realize this is a bit frustrating for some of you but this change we are implementing is definitely for the greater good and will allow users like yourself to add more supported banks and institutions.
Have a good day!
-
ready to not continue use of mint.com - can't load prudential or schwab accts
-
-
its funny the first two accounts I've tried with Mint.. has not worked... first merit and prudential 401k... what a waste of time this has been
-
-
When adding a financial account I search for "prudential" and it only returns "prudential savings bank" - so I am unable to add my prudential retirenment account.
I have a coworker down the hall that searches for the same thing (prudential) a gets a list of many more search results for "prudential". He was able to successfully add his account under the same plan!
How could a search for "prudential" return such different results!- view 2 more comments

As you can see - this is precisely the issue - different people are getting different results from Mint - and this question was asked a MONTH ago... no one from Mint posted a response. This is very disturbing as far as customer service is concerned...
-
-
I also only get "Prudential Savings Bank"! It is disturbing that different people are getting different results.

^intersting.
SUPPORT NEEDED! i too have an IRA w/ prudential and cannot log into it
out of 5 bank accounts, i can view ONLY TWO on mint!
BOOOOOOO -
-
This makes no sense...why would I chose mint if it doesn't work with all my investment accounts...this is so frustrating!
-
-
I am also having this problem with prudential retirement and mint.com
-
-
-
-
Indeed, Prudential being a larger investment/401k/insurance company and not being included in Mint access is strange.
-
-
Mint.com seems to be able to update all accounts without any issues but cannot link accounts like Prudential Retirement, First Horizon, store credit cards etc. while Yodlee.com links all account types, with great reporting and financial calendar features, but does not update my banking account with any consistency............is there an aggregate financial site out there that does that does it all!
-
-
I was finally able to add my Prudential 401k! I had to go on my 401k's website and create the security questions and then add them to the account sign-in settings on mint. After that, my account was integrated into mint with all my others.

This worked for me!!! Make sure you select the exact same security questions on mint.com that you used on prudential.com (of course, and the same answers!).

When you add Prudential (I'm assuming you're adding a 401k or IRA as well), you search "prudential retirement". Then select "prudential retirement services". My 401k login is under this website. Put in ALL the info mint asks for; user id, password, and security questions. Make sure that you have created security questions and answers on your Prudential account page. This should do the trick. It worked for me!
-
Odd...when I do the search only prudential savings bank appears. Any clue what the issue might be? Thanks again for the help
-
-
Still nothing. Prudential savings is all I ever get!
-
-
-
-

After the search, on the left side of the window, you probably have the checking/savings tab active. Click on investments and this should show the right listing.
-
-
Are you using Windows or Apple? What browser are you using? I do not see the investments tab.
-
Using Safari on Apple MacBook Pro. On the Mint homepage, I click on "add account" and then type "prudential" in the search field. In my search, this brings up 9 different results under the "All" tab (it shows numbers in parentheses of how many results in each tab): checking/savings (1), credit cards (1) and investments (7). You should be able to click right on "prudential retirement services" within this listing, but can further refine the search by clicking on the appropriate tabs on the left of the listings . From there, I just inputted my information and am off and running with my 401k in mint. I tried the same process using Firefox on my mac, as well as Explorer on my wife's PC, and i get the same results. So, it must be something regarding your search. The tabs are easy to miss. They are to the left of the search results, within the same small window. Hope this helps...
-
-
The only thing I see on the left is confirmation that I've added a large number of account types. There are no tabs. Additionally, I don't see why one would need to sort their search results by type since "prudential" still only returns the prudential savings everyone else is getting.
-
-
-
-
-
The area where your accounts are listed is shaded dark grey. The results are in a white box to the right . The result types are to the immediate right of your accounts. The first one, "All Types" should be directly below the word "prudential" which appears in the search field after you've run the search. The number 9 should be in parentheses showing how many results are there. If you only get the "Prudential Savings Bank" result, look to the immediate left of the result and see if it says Checking/Savings. If it does, above that should say All Types. Those are the tabs in question. Just click on all types, and it will show all the results.

That is really weird. Your results aren't the same results that I get when doing the same search. Are you at 100% completeness (have you already added your savings and checking accounts)? Other than that, I don't know what else to say.
-
-
I am at 100% completeness. I have added all of my accounts but Prudential. I cannot get the same results as you are getting, and I am not the only one. Yet, you are not the only one who is getting multiple results searching for Prudential either (teela was also able to follow your path) - so I think that you may either have some beta stuff going on without knowing, or that the system has an error which gives different results to different users...
-
-
-
-
Same thing here....no tabs...."Prudential" search comes up with Prudential Savings only; "Prudential Retirement"-no hits. Tried it on an HP w/Safari, Mozilla and Explorer. On an iMac with Safari and Mozilla...same results
-
-
Yes, same here. Tried it on PC: Firefox, IE8, Chrome. Tried it on Mac: Firefox. Tried it on a mobile phone using Skyfire: Nada. No tabs.
Started search from within the Overview tab and from within the Investments tab - same result. Prudential Savings. I guess they must be beta testing with some people and you're a lucky one.-
This is absolutely bizarre! I wish mint cared more about us prudential folks! I even tried creating a new account and still nothing...I wish quicken for mac worked with prudential retirement...I guess financial software isn't good for the mac users because apple doesn't want you to know that buying a $2000 machine puts a strain on your pocketbook...
Does anyone know of any good financial software for the mac that will allow you to download your transactions for free from bofA and also include all the prudential stuff? -
-
-
-

Try Yodlee.com. All my accounts link including Prudential Retirement. I decided to try out Mint to compare it vs. Yodlee. Mint does a better job updating my checking account but Yodlee has many more features. I found no site with timely customer service...........seems like "free" has its price
-
-
I'll do that right after my next root canal - I equally look forward to both.
-
-
If you look all the way up this thread, already a month ago, daddyvt posted that different people are getting different results from Mint - again - a MONTH ago... no one from Mint posted a response. This is very disturbing as far as customer service is concerned...
-
-
Here is the reason... I knew it had something to do with the Mint side... http://satisfaction.mint.com/mint/top... - I doubt this will be resolved shortly... basically, because they have two different backend system to integrate with bank data, different people get different results arbitrarily. GREAT. NOT.
-
-
Here's how it worked for me:
I'm at 55% complete, I've already added checking, savings and a trading account to Mint.
From the homepage, I went to "Your Accounts" on the top of the screen (btw, I'm using Firefox on WIndows Vista). A pop up type window opened and I chose the Add button (under the Financial icon). I typed in "Prudential" and got a list of 9 matches. I chose the one for "Prudential Retirement Services" - not the one with streetscape in the name or "Prudential Retirement Access". I then entered my username and password from my Prudential site. I had already set up my security questions on Prudential. What tripped me up before was that I didn't make sure that the security questions I answered on Mint were the ones that I had answered on Prudential. In all but one out of the five questions, I had to use the dropdown to choose the correct question to answer. So I basically had my Prudential account open while I was doing the Mint access so I could choose the right questions.
It then authenticated for quite a while but, unlike every other attempt, it worked this time! But really, it took at least a minute for it to authenticate.
Hope this helps.-
Thanks Teela, but if you look at my previous post, you will see what the reason for the different responses different users have been getting - http://satisfaction.mint.com/mint/top... - basically, because they have two different backend systems to integrate with bank data, different people get different results arbitrarily...
-
-
-
-
-
Even worse - check out this Mint response: http://satisfaction.mint.com/mint/top...
Looks like it's a few months away from resolution, unless you want to start from scratch with the link provided in the posting I pasted above... -

From some of the replies on this topic I can only conclude that the options that come up when you type in Prudential under Add Financial Institution option seems to Vary from user to user. Some get only Prudential Savings Bank while others get multiple options. Why this is so, is there a bug that causes it, only Mint can verify and correct. But some of the people trying to help from Mint act as if they don't even understand the problem. It is frustrating-- I agree
-
-
This is so bizarre. My coworker and I set ours up within a week of each other. She was able to add Prudential Retirement. When I couldn't get it to work, she came over to help me and said she was doing all of the same things on mine and it just won't show up? I don't buy the "if you have an older account it might not work so just make a new account to solve the issue." Mine is a week newer than her's and her's worked?? I really hope they come up with a solution quickly. I like the software and the functionality, but I'm missing a big piece of my savings by not being able to add my 401k!!
-
-
Mint support: you have sent an e-mail tonight stating that you now support "my financial institution" yet you still do not support Prudential 401K.... we can still only get "Prudential Savings Bank" as the only result - when others using the older system are getting 9 different results - amongst which is Prudential Retirement... this is just lame.
-
-
thanks for the extensive info, I have the same problem on the new system with this and my wife's vanguard. Sounds like I just need to be patient while they fix the problem which of course is frustrating but at least I know it's not something I am doing wrong on my end. Thanks Los13!
-
-
It wasn't working for me either for the longest time, then BAM! It worked!
What I did this time is the following:
-Logged on to my 401K with Prudential through retirement.prudential.com
-Went to my profile, and updated my five security questions.
-Saved the new questions, and LOGGED OUT (very important because mint.com can't connect to your prudential account if you are logged in).
-Added PRUDENTIAL RETIREMENT SERVICE (not the "mystreetscape" one)
-Input all the necessary credentials, and let mint.com do the rest.
This was the only account I couldn't view with mint.com, now my portfolio is pretty much complete.
There's this overdraft protection line of credit that I have with Union Bank, and I can't add it, but that's simply because it has the same account # as my the checking it's linked to, so I'm not surprised. Adding it would be terrific though.-
this is useless information for anyone that is having the real problem on this thread. Prudential retirement services is not an option for us. Los13 already provided the answer.

Aysa, has progress been made in the last 4 months? Is there an estimate for a fix?
-
-
-
-

How has mint "marked this question as answered." ?
Is there an estimate of when these two backend systems will finally be merged?-
Hi daddyvt,
Yes, I have marked this answered, but we do acknowledge that the issue/s arising from having two back-end system is not yet resolved.
Good news is that Mint is not in the process of migrating accounts to the new system. Though this is done batch by batch, completion is just a few months away.
Have a good day! -

I do see this in Mint, but mystreetscape.com not the same are www.retirement.prudential.com, and I want to add www.retirement.prudential.com, which is the Prudential's 401K site.
Albert-
Same here. "Prudential Retirement" is listed, but the url is wrong. I am also looking for www.retirement.prudential.com NOT www.mystreetscape.com
-
-
-
-
-
Yes, we can say that again, and again, and again, but Mint doesn't give a damn. www.retirement.prudential.com - this is the URL to support... only one of the top 5 401K programs in the country, nothing major...
-
-
Just my two cents, I have a number of coworkers that are waiting on this resolution to start using mint, even some updates on whats going on would be appreciated.
-
-
Here's the funny thing. I've been using Mint with Prudential retirement for the last 6 months until 5 days ago it stopped working. What gives? Mint kept going down hill every week since I joined. Is it me or is it Quicken buying Mint?

Count me in. My prudential updates stopped about the same time as yours.
Hope to get a resolution soon. Tried to reset my security question few times. Nothing seems to work. -
-
It started working for me last night, but I actually had to remove and readd the account. This totally screws up the prices though. Turns out Mint uses point in time pricing for 401K :(
-
-
-
-
My 401k is finally synching again with no explanation from Mint! I am happy, but skeptical that anyone knows what happened or how to avoid it happening again!
-
I was out and about last night when I got the email update on your post. For some strange reason I got my hopes up that because your account updated that I would get home and my Prudential, credit union, and AES school loans would all update. When I got home my life returned to its usual level of dissatisfaction and I cried. Thanks for ruining my night :(
-
-
No sooner do I share my heartwrenching story and I try again and they updated!!! Alas I can monitor my retirment that is fast approaching...40 years
-
-
-
-
-
I'm one of the unlucky ones that cannot add a prudential 401k account, all I get is that lame streetscape option.
-
-
-
I'm in the same boat as you. Read Asya's post a little bit above yours.
-
-
-
-
-
Is there a more specific time that retirement.prudential.com will be added? It's the last account I need with online access. I'd like to know when to check rather than trying when it's not there yet.
-
-
I too can't add my Prudential 401k. This has been going on for several months it seems. Any ETA when we will have a solution??
-
-
We are waiting for www.retirement.prudential.com as well. As others have pointed out, it would significantly ease the frustrations everyone is experiencing if MINT would simply give us an ETA on the update.
-
-
-
-
Honestly, this cannot take that much effort to add - it's been bloody months since this was brought up!
-
-
Same here. Frustration due to Mint not responding, and not being able to add my 401k (retirement.prudential.com) to mint.
-
-
Looks like they added it under "Prudential Financial Retirement". Works for me!
-
Well what do you know! It's about time! Thanks Mint! FYI, this works for retirement.prudential.com, just put in your username and password where Mint says "account number" and "PIN".
-
-
-
-
-
I'm able to add it but it always says there is a problem. It hasn't worked properly yet.
-
-
-
-
thanks to Heathbar for the tip about using username & password instead of account number and pin! that was holding me up for a while, but now i've finally gotten it to work.
