Blackberry application...coming soon?
I recently noticed that a Mint.com application was added for the iPhone, is there anything in the pipeline for Blackberry (specifically the Blackberry Storm)?

Hello all,
Unfortunately we don't have plans for a Blackberry app at this time, I'll let you know if anything changes.

Atleast give us a mobile friendly site that we can access via Blackberry or any other "not app supported smartphone"
-
I really love Mint, if pageonce has a BB app then I guess I will be moving on. Thats how important it is to me to be able to access info on my phone.
-
Let's see, Blackberry 41.6%, IPhone 25.3% and Android 5.2% market share in 12/2009. Makes sense, start with the smaller users and work your way up. Come on Mint, get smart and develop an app for the biggest market share, or lose us!!!!!
-
This is crazy! The BlackBerry is still the smartphone of the business world, and a finance tracking company has no plans to develop an app for it? Whoever made this decision should be encouraged to look for a new job, preferably in a market where consumer interest isn't in his/her job description
-
Oh wow... PageOnce.com is just like Mint.com, but they actually have a blackberry app! Sorry Mint, but catch up or cash out!!!
-
OK, so let me get this straight - you've developed an app for a phone supported by 1 provider (iphone). You are developing an app for a phone supported by essentially 2 carriers in the U.S (Droid). Yet you have 'no plans' to develop an app for a phone supported by almost every provider?
Am I the only one that doesn't get this? -
Wait, isn't Mint owned by intuit now? You think a progressive and powerful company like that would put the required R & D into creating an application for the device that most represents their core client base. I think someone needs to retake their undergrad business classes...

Blackberry tends to get left out of the loop for a few reasons. One I maybe that its is a more secure handset then some of the other models mentioned.
It's unfortunate that "we" get left out in the dust. I really like using mint.com but if I find something that is compatible with my blackberry I will close my account here as I imagine some other folks would as well. -
Just like half the civilized world, I have a Blackberry and WISH I could use it to access my Mint account!!!!!!!!!!! You would think they would have apps by now for ALL phones especially BLACKBERRY! LET'S GO ALREADY!!! PLEASEEEEEE..............................

We're not actively working on a blackberry app. Our attention is focused on providing the best experience on the iOS and Android platforms, and we have some major updates coming this Winter 2010. Thanks.

It's simply about growth.
The iPhone and Android handset show higher growth potential.
Blackberry is on decline and will be for a while. Nobody uses BB except for you guys. Loser phone for losers. The same way no one wears watches anymore. A blackberry is watch and a waste.-
melodyholli November 16, 2011 03:15I chose to use a Blackberry over an iPhone, because Blackberry has committed to developing a phone that can be certified as "conflict mineral free". Apple will not address this issue. I would rather use a reliable phone from a company that is addressing the issues of conflict minerals from the Democratic Republic of Congo, rather than hopping on the bandwagon and getting the trendy iPhone.EditDeleteRemove

Please, don't start discussing iPhone/Android advantages over BlackBerry. This isn't the right place.
BB still has a lot of corporate clients where companies' policies allow only BB in the corporate network. And this will continue for the next 2-3 years, until Android will support corporate level encryption.
I would think there is quite substantial number of finance-oriented people employed by big corporations where BB is a standard. And it will remain standard in the nearest future.
How much does it cost to port an Android app to BB? Give them a quote. -

I'm very sad and disappointed, I would think BB would have been the 1st to have the app. Come on get with it we want to be ON TOP of our money too. Please created this app for BB. We will use it.

I too friends have been disappointed (one year this month) to learn of Intuit's/Mint.com's intentions of not supporting blackberry. I totally adore the mint.com product, it's amazingly efficient and it's just good at what it does. However, after boycotting Mint.com for ignorinng the repeated requests and multiple emails to no avail, I have found a very viable ALTERNATIVE, FREE of charge. Check out Toshl.com. Shewww, I can keep my BB for another year before the market forces me to switch. Maybe we can't stop the decline of our beloved and effecive device, but we can sure slow it down. Ps. RIM not all of us want to carry a tablet (playbook) and a BB; your product too is amazing! Why have you made it so challenging for developers? Oh well, hope this helps the avearge small business owner user like myself. Now go play :)

Thanks for the alternative recommendation. I like Pageonce as well but certainly would like an app that keeps me on budget as well.

I suspect that Mint is waiting for RIM to release BlackBerry phones with its new QNX operating system. Think about it: The operating system on current phones will be completely overtaken by the new QNX OS (that is already on the Playbook). Why would Mint, at this point, develop an app for an operating system that is dead in the water?
-
Considering this 'idea' was started 3 years ago your point is silly.

When I first joined Mint in 2008, I was really excited that I finally had a way to manage my finances. You have helped me pay down my student loan, manage my savings and 401k, and helped provide information that eventually led me toward having enough money to buy my first home. I want to say thank you for doing all these great things that have benefited my life.
Unfortunately, I have been very disappointed with the lack of an application for the Blackberry phone. I can understand the desire to stick with a couple of devices that have plenty of community support and technological promise, but you are one of the reasons that is making the Blackberry a failure.
I stick with Blackberry because of its ability to manage emails, handle security, the in-house messaging system (BBM), and the physical QWERTY keyboard. Also, plenty of the new OS7 devices included the touchscreen capability. Still, you continue to be one of the reasons that Blackberry is failing.
We know a majority of developers are discouraged with the ability to program for a Blackberry device, but there are plenty more developers interested in developing an app at a discounted price or rate. To simply say there isn't a high enough demand is short-sighted and simple-minded. Obviously, you can't be these two things because you have built a wonderful tool with unlimited possibilities. Ultimately, you and companies like you not creating apps for the Blackberry is why RIM has fallen to 3rd place in the mobile wars.
Please Intuit and Mint, reconsider your stance for the Mint Blackberry application. I promise you that plenty more than 100,000 people will download the app in the first month and millions will learn of your capabilities over the following quarter. Either way, I will still continue to use your product. Sadly though, I can't recommend Mint to my mobile friends because most of my friends are Blackberry users. -

have you ever thought about how much easier it is to make good apps on iOS or Andriod, or how about the memory limitation that BB puts on any app developed for their OS. For people here that have no idea how to program shutup, its not like they just draw on a piece of paper and scan it in, they have to make EFFIN sure that everything works and is secure. Its called covering your butt, as 1 mistakes could cause A LOT of problems. They're not actively shunning you on purpose, obviously if they could release an app tomorrow they would. Get off your horses, apply for a job at mint and program it yourself if you're so keen!!!

Really ... The most secure platform on the planet ... Your response is very ignorant. Its not about how easy it is ... its about a lack of desire on the part of a company to invest in the users beyond the 'popular' device of the moment. Most Android apps suck by the way and look like crap. iOS apps are what the device actually do something other than 'look cool'.

Disappointed that even with the OS7 devices there's no word on a blackberry app. I can accept no excuse. To do what, jump on the popular bandwagon? Blackberry is nearly as popular as the rest... we just down run around yelping about it every 2 seconds.

How do you know what mobile phone a 'significant percentage' of your users uses when your site is specifically geared toward iOS users. There are 70 million BlackBerry users; 20 million added the past year alone. The fact that there is no support by your company planned for the future is just an ignorant business decision. This thread alone (for the people who found it) has 850+ likes. Apparently there is a demand ... Just a lack of caring on the part of your company.

Latest gartner report shows the following for each smartphone platform. http://www.gartner.com/it/page.jsp?id...
Andriod 38.5%
iPhone 19.4%
Blackberry 13.4%
Microsoft 5.6%
Symbian 19.2%
Their estimates for the end of 2012 are
Andriod 49.2%
iPhone 18.9%
Blackberry 12.6%
Microsoft 10.8%
Symbian 5.2%
I personally use a Windows Phone 7 device I'd love Mint support for. We used to be a majority Blackberry company but quickly users are leaving for other platforms. When looking at development money it does not make sense investing in platforms on the decline. -

I am done waiting...switching to pageonce
Already downloaded the app. Happy trails mint.com -

Kind of disappointing that this isn't avail on BB yet, or even a BB friendly web-site.
Looking at the list of "Ideas" by the community - this one seems to be ranked second most popular. I'd think Mint would take that into consideration, before simply shooting it down. -
-
Well, I guess that after 3 years of asking for this, it just won't happen at all. Chances are even lower considering the current financial state of RIM.

Also disappointed there's no BB app. Agree with above user that is one thing hurting bb sales. Real or perceived lack of apps. Guess I'll check out the options others suggested.
