Presidents Choice Financial Stopped Updating
Presidents Choice Financial stopped updating??? I think it has to do with the fact it now asks security questions as well.
-
I had this happen before, but was prompted by the Accounts tab to answer the security question. This no longer seems to happen - now it just stays broken. Editing account information doesn't fix it.

I am having this problem with my bank, Academy Bank, as well. Anyone know how to add fields to the saved login information so as to add muliple answers for multi-questions??
-
-
I've been having this problem for 4 days now. PC Financial as well. No idea why.
-
-
Yes myself also, like OP said, it use to ask the security questions, but no longer, anyone at Mint wish to help us with this, seems to be site wide with a number of financial institutions.
-
This is my exact situation. President's Choice bank stopped being update almost 4 weeks ago and I emailed Mint the question on how to resolve it. They responded very quickly with an answer that didn't work. I've email that same persona back 3 times and get no response at all now. VERY FRUSTRATING! Quite unprofessional to not even respond to the question as to why suddenly it stopped working with it was fine with Quicken and for the first week with Mint.
-
-
-
-
-
Mine started updating again this morning. I saw another thread where it said there have been sitewide issues with updating over the past few days, but it seems to be working again. I hope it's working for all of you now.
-
-
It has changed. Instead of stating that it cannot update, it endlessly TRIES to update.
-
-
It started working for a day, but now it has stopped again.
Perhaps it is having trouble with the security questions? -
-
Partially solved!! Adding a new account for president's choice works with the security question and all.
BUT trying to update the old president's choice account with the same parameters as the new added account fails. -
-
Hello all,
Many of your accounts appear to be free of errors so I wanted to check to see if your issue has been resolved?
We experienced load issues last week that resulted in the disablement of auto-refreshing of accounts, so perhaps this was the issue you were posting about.
Please let me know if you are still experiencing any issues.
Thanks,

Still not working. I'm trying my log in information (which works on PC's website) every week.
PLEASE fix this. -

My PC account has not updated transactions for the period between August 17th and September 30th. It is updating for October 1st onwards. How can I get the missing transactions?

still a problem for me
i have two pc financial accounts, and only one is working [but only downloads tx's from april even though there is a years worth available]
but my other one is continually getting "Temporary issue connecting
Last Updated: 10 seconds ago" i have deleted and re-added several times.
thanks!!
Looking forward to utilizing Mint if this works,
Thanks,

All of my PC accounts (including my PC Mastercard) are now updating properly.
-
-
It now connects for my second account!!
is anyone able to tell me how i can get the remaining 9 months of available data on my pcf accounts? it only pulled since april! -
-
Seems to be working, great stuff!
@rotary65, i didn't know PC mastercard worked with mint. I added mine today! Thanks! -
-
Still not working for me. PC Mastercard login is fine but PC Financial login is not - "Temporary issues" when trying to connect. Been this way all week for me.

Same for me. It seems that all the bank accounts come and go in terms of their functionality

FYI - I logged into my PC Financial account and noted that I had an error indicating the maximum number of security question failures had been exceeded. I'm assuming this is because of Mint not handling it correctly. Even after resetting everything, Mint is still unable to access the PC Financial account.
-
-
@jivany
I think you're right in that Mint is not handling the security questions properly. From my experience with Quicken Online, the main reason for the security questions being triggered by the bank's site is when attempting to login from two different geographic regions in a short period of time.
What I mean is that when I log in to my bank's website, it recognizes that I am in say, Buffalo. When Mint attempts to refresh the account information later on that day, the bank recognizes Mint's servers as being located in say California. This then triggers the security question prompt, which Mint does not seem to be handling flawlessly with many financial institutions.
The reason I believe this to be the case is that of all the different accounts I have on Mint, the 2 accounts that I use for my daily banking (in other words the ones I sign on to regularly) are giving the "unable to connect" errors, while my other accounts (which I seldom login to) are working fine.
This is just a guess, but the evidence seems to fit.
It sure would be nice to get an update on this situation from Mint.-
Your understanding of the security question trigger is the same as mine. I access my accounts at two different banks from 3 or 4 different computers that would show up as being in 3 or 4 different geographical locations. The first few times, the bank websites would prompt me for the security questions. Now it seems that they have "learned" where I will log in from. I'm guessing Mint falls into that same trap.
I've had to remove my PC Financial account for now because I can't have Mint keep trying to access the account and screwing up my security questions. Here's hoping they find a solution soon. -

Back to not working,
security questions issue most definitely...
Please fix! -
-
I've had the unable-to-update problem for the past few days, so I tried deleting and re-adding my PC Financial account; the message it's giving me says that my login information is incorrect. Funny, it worked before, and is precisely the same information I use to log into the online banking on the PC site...
-
Mine was randomly switching between the login information being incorrect or the temporarily unavailable error. Either way, it seems that it simply is not handling the security questions correctly.
-
-
-
-
-
Stopped working here too, and I too suspect its because of the security questions - PC has prompted me a few times with those when I login normally.
Anyone found a solution? I really don't want to have to retag 4 months worth of purchases! (and all the ATM splits that I did... ugh) -
-
Hmmmm...well now it just seems to want to update forever. Those little arrows just keep spinning. So that's progress right?
As far as the security questions are concerned, I had them come up a couple of times in the past and it seemed to handle them alright, no hickups. So yeah, i'm just going to keep spinning my arrows for the time being. -
-
not working for me either. I really wish that Quicken Online was still around for Canadian banks because so far Mint has been garbage for me. Accounts not updating, accounts miscategorized as assets instead of debt (line of credit), I'm not really impressed so far. Not seeing any benefit to Mint.
-

Both PC Financial and PC Mastercard have again stopped working. I am promoted to fix the problem by visiting my bank to log in to verify my account still works (which I do successfully), then reentering my bank information in Mint's accounts page. No go.
-
-
I'm having the same issues with the PC financial updates. It was working fine when I first switched from Quicken Online, but I haven't had a new update since the 26th of July. I agree that so far I liked Quicken Online better, but I think that there are going to be growing pains as they try to coordinate the two systems. I can't imagine how bad it would have been if they had tried to carry over all our data from Quicken Online. Oh man that would have been a $hi% show.
-
-
I can't seem to add my President's Choice financial account. It says sign in problem (wrong username or password), but I can log into their website just fine. Could it be related to the fact I recently changed my password, or what?
-
-
I make most of my purchases with the PC Mastercard. So this issue cripples the mint.com account.
-
Sorry PC Mastercard is working. Its just the PC Financial login that is not working.
-
-
-
-
-
Same here - I cycle between "temporary issue" and "problem signing in" error messages. Last update for my account was 6 days ago. PC Financial Mastercard works fine for me, it's just the bank account that has the issue. I tried adding a new account but it detected a duplicate account, and I don't want to delete it as I have the data stored.
-
-
Looking at some of the other threads, it seems that these issues are happening with multiple banks.
Hopefully Mint solves the problem soon. Or at the very least starts being more responsive. Using GetSatisfaction is great for webapp companies, but only if you actually respond to the issues that people raise. -
-
I just joined up today, added two PC accounts and could not sign in... Too bad cuz the concept is great
-
-
My PC Financial accounts have stopped updating too. My 4 accounts, my husband's 4 accounts, and our joint account - none working. And of course, Mint still can't connect to my AMEX.
Our PC mastercards are still connecting. But 2 out of 12 accounts makes Mint useless to us, so I hope they fix that soon. -
-
PC Financial hasn't been updating for a week. Very frustrating.
-
-
I am a new MINT user that was forced to migrate from Quicken. The first impressions have not been great so far, PC Financial has not connected to date, no account details.
-
-
It's just PC Financial Banking that isn't working for me now. It's been broken for days now. It's discouraging because I have come to rely on Mint and really love the elegance of the design of the application.
PC Mastercard only stopped working for one day, then resumed working for me. Not related, but my TD Easyweb Accounts all update fine.
Mint is wonderful and I can't wait to get it back. -
-
I cannot even add my PC Financial accounts (I'm a new user). It keeps giving me a "sign in error". My TD Bank accounts added just fine. Driving me crazy because my PC accounts are my main ones.
-
I'm getting "Sign in problem!"
-
-
-
-
-
Same.
PC account was updating perfectly, and then for day's it was unable to retrieve my account info.
I thought deleting and re-adding might help - but not the account won't even connect to be added again.
I know Canada isn't entirely supported, but this is frustrating. -
-
The most frustrating thing is that I was a happy Quicken Online user for a long time without any issues with my Canadian banks, but now I am forced to switch to Mint which has been nothing but headaches.
-
-
After my PC Financial account stopped updating - I too tried deleting and re-adding it - still doesn't work for me as well. My TD and BMO accounts work perfectly.
My PC Mastercard account also just partially works ( it's missing almost all of the June and the first two weeks of July transactions).
I'm hoping that they come up with a fix soon.... really do love the concept. -
-
PC Mastercard updated yesterday but other than that my PC bank accounts have not been updating for over a week. Rather frustrating
-
-
47 replies, and no response from Mint other than "seems to be working for most people." This is some truly astounding customer service.
For the record, I signed up for an account last week, and have never been able to get PC Financial to update, usually (though not always) due to the "incorrect login" error.-
i agree...it would be nice to at least have someone from Mint keep us updated on things or tell us what's going on.

I cannot add my PC Financial account either, I just get 'Temporary Issue Connecting'
Please help. -

-
Guess I'll write an actual reply instead of commenting on Jami's response.
I have recently signed up for Mint (less than a week) and when I try to add my President's Choice Financial accounts I get a temporary issue connecting message. I can log into the bank fine. I tried it from two different computers and with both Firefox and Safari - over a few days.
I'll try adding PC Mastercard since many people say it works, but most of my banking is through PC. -
-
Still not updating. It says that it updated 3 days ago, but the last transaction listed is on July 26th. I assure you I have used the account since then.
-
mine did that too. said "updated 1 day ago" but clearly had not actually updated.
-
-
-
-
-
Mine also stopped updating about a week and a half ago. I have tried deleting and re-adding the account, I've tried changing my PC password, I've tried multiple browsers and operating systems, no luck.
I hope this gets worked out soon! The times that it has worked, it's been very nice. PC Mastercard works just fine. -
-
I've seen it say "Login Problem" click here to fix it. It prompts me to go to the pc financial website and login. Then it prompts me to re-enter my bank card number and password in mint. That still doesn't work and it just says "Temporary issue". This is not a temporary issue - it hasn't worked for almost two weeks now.
Can we get an update from Mint on this? Are you aware that it's still not working? -
-
I tried to contact PC about this and got this answer:
Dear **** *****,
Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
I regret to advise that President's Choice Financial does not support the access of your account(s) through another service.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.
Thank you for visiting www.pcfinancial.ca.

PC Financial always worked just fine with Quicken Online. It worked for a week or two when I signed up for Mint too. I still think Mint is just screwy while it integrates all the Canadians.
-
-
I contacted PC Financial and received the same form response.
I'm going to continue pressing them to see if I can get an actual response as to specifics, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
Really though, this IS STILL a Mint.com issue. A big one. If more and more banks go this route - Mint is going to be left with a useless product. Mint is only useful if the vast majority of a person's financial accounts can be used properly. If they want to continue to be a viable product, they're going to need to work with the institutions on this. -
-
-
-
-
Go to http://www.banking.pcfinancial.ca/a/h... to submit feedback to PC Financial about this. Maybe if we make our voices heard, it will motivate PC to find a solution...
-
-
I'm fairly confident that Mint uses a third party data provider which communicates with each bank and relays the information to mint. As such, this is more a problem for the data provider and mint and less of a problem for PC Financial.
-
-
I contacted Mint about this problem and here is what I heard back:
"My apologies for any inconvenience. Please try to update by changing your log-in credentials in Mint and in your bank site to see if it works. If the issue persists, please email us back." (from Anabelle D.)
What does that even mean? Am I supposed to change my banking password and then change it in Mint? Does she mean change the security questions for both my bank and in Mint? I'm not sure. -
-
mint.com didn't ask for my security questions. It asked for my card number and my password but no way to enter my security questions.
I did try to use an less often used card for my login (I have 2 that access my accounts) and it still did not work. -
-
I just joined, and cannot add my account just the same as these other folks. "Temporary issues connecting".
Please fix! -
-
PC financial made updates to their site by adding interac email transfer. I wonder if they made other changes that effect mint
-
-
The real problem is that the bank has multiple layer security. First - user name and password verification. Second - if the computer you are using has never accessed the bank's site the bank's system will send you, by email or text message depending on your setup a verification code and ask (on the bank's website) if the computer will be used regularly or just once. If the computer is to be used regularly the bank's system will ask for the verification code sent to you and if you respond correctly the system will then attempt to load a "cookie" on the computer that will allow you to log in with only the first and third security layers. Third - a picture/text combination that the user must acknowledge, this is clicking on a button that says the image and phrase is correct for this account. Mint simply cannot show you the picture/phrase level nor is it programed to depress the acknowledgement button. At this point access is denied. If Mint would allow cookies and program a "picture in picture" window for intial log in so that the user could do the initial log in, that would solve halve the problem. Then have a macro recording program to capture the first manual log in by the user. Mint could then access the account automaticaly using the saved macro. Of course that would require someone with authority at Mint to give a damn enough to figure this out on their own and get it done. Me, I deleted my accounts and went back to using my old Money software. Since Intuit recommended these idiots I have taken my real estate investment firm off Quickbooks Pro and put them on Peachtree. I have found if you hit someones wallet, they change behavors if not attitudes.

I have issues connecting as well. It worked for about a month and then stopped last week.

Interesting. I got all excited seeing that people can connect to their PC Financial accounts again, so I tried it out. It kinda works. The balances are there, but no transactions and it's still the can't update error message...
-

I was so excited when I thought it was working again, but nope...my PC bank accounts still won't update.

I have this deal-breaker of a problem too and it hasn't gone away even for a period. I see in this conversation there are so far 93 replies with 1 employee helping. Picture a customer service wicket with 93 upset customers experiencing the same problem and the rep saying nothing.
Not looking good on ya, Mint. -
-
I was able to add pc mastercard account and then immediately after am unable to update accounts. good one.
-
-
Having same issues. PCF Mastercard connected, but my standard accounts don't connect. I get "Temporary issue connecting" no matter what I do. I have double checked my ability to log onto the PCF website, and confirmed my account and password are correct.
Hope to hear an update soon! -
-
tried deleting and recreating the account, no luck. Tried logging in and answering security questions directly on the website, then again through mint, no luck.
-
-
CIBC seems to have the same problems at the same time. Not altogether surprising given they are part of the same group.
-
-
-
-
I only have a President's Choice account (and a PCMC) and cannot get my PC account to connect - just hangs on 'Temporary Issue Connecting'. My MasterCard has signed on correctly, and has downloaded the balance, but does not seem to have downloaded a transaction history.
Overall, this is quite a failure. I've been waiting for Mint to open to Canadians for YEARS, and I'm sad to say my first impressions of the service are not favourable. I've had much more success with Excel. At least that works reliably. -
-
mint has informed CIBC users that CIBC is blocking mints aggregation efforts so they will not be able to suppot CIBC. I hope President's Choice is not doing the same thing as CIBC
-
-
-
-
Time to contact PCF and tell them you want them to support Mint, everyone.
Sign in, go to "helpful stuff", and then choose to contact them via email. Write them a short note saying that you're disappointed, that you want them to work with Mint to find a solution, and (if its true) that you're willing to switch banks to get Mint.com support.
Honestly, for the $10/month it costs to get a no-fee account at another bank, getting Mint.com support it worth it for me.-
I'm not willing to change banks; I'd rather change software.
-
-
I'm not willing to change banks; I'd rather change software.
Besides, AMEX still isn't working in mint either... -
-
-
-
-
This is bad, if they are preventing MINT then I assume they will prevent all others from aggregating. Looks like I will go back to Moneytrackin.com and do the inputs manually. At least I will be able to access it my data on the go.
This seems like utter BS since it worked for a short period last weekend. -
-
Thanks for the tip about moneytrackin.com...I'm heading there!!
-
-
See this thread from 4 days ago, with the official response from Mint being to de-list CIBC as a supported bank. Given their affiliation and the close timing with the problems people are seeing with PCF, I am pretty sure that President's Choice Financial will be de-listed from Mint.com as well.
http://satisfaction.mint.com/mint/top...
It is unfortunate that CIBC / PCF is unable to give a more detailed answer to the question of why they are blocking aggregation tools, and is is equally unfortunate that Mint.com has now been rendered close to useless for 15% of the Canadian market. I wonder if they realize how centralized the Canadian Banking system is, and that the loss of one of the big 5 Canadian Banks (even the smallest) has much more widespread impact than losing one of the many thousands of decentralized banks in the US? -
-
This is not the first time PCF has put security above convenience. Quite frankly, I'd rather put my money under my mattress rather than keep dealing with PCF.
For those that switched to moneytrackin.com How did you addy our statements for PCF? PCF has a column for funds in and funds out. Moneytrackin.com only allows one column. -
-
Since this discussion has branched into what other financial tracking software is out there, I thought maybe this link would be helpful to some:
http://personalfinancesoftwarereviews...-
Although that's a nicely detailed YNAB review, it reads very much like ad copy. Interesting read though, so thanks for the link.
-
-
-
-
-
I would stick with Mint.com if they allowed uploading statements like Wesabe did.
-
-
I signed up with Mint primarily to track my PC Financial accounts... Considering it's the end of August and this has been open since July, I'd like to see a resolution in the very near future.
-
-
I guess we can give up, I will be closing my account.
Here are two excerpts from the mail I received from PCF;
"In response to your message, to ensure the privacy and security of your financial information, President's Choice Financial does not support accounts being accessed by third parties, such as account aggregators."
And to add insult to injury;
"
If you have provided a third party with your sign on credentials, you will need to change your password and personal verification questions in order to be eligible in the future for the President's Choice Financial Personal Banking Online Security Guarantee."
Seems like we are beat.-
You'd think the Mint support team should be aware of this. I received the following from them 9 days ago (ie at least 9 days after dwrightnb received the message from PCF):
"I wanted to confirm that we've asked our data provider to look into this issue. We'll post back as soon as we have an update."
Does Mint have the support people just making up random answers to customer issues?
It is unfortunate that PCF has chosen not to support this kind of access, but the useless Mint support makes the experience so much worse. -
-
-
-
-
This is crap. Quicken Online worked beautifully. I was so happy with the service. I went out and bought some of their other software because of it. Mint seems to be a bag of garbage so far. Either make it work, or tell me you won't support the bank. That way I can move on with my life.
-
-
So long Quicken..., so long Mint. It was fun while it lasted!
-
-
I really like Mint and find it to be an ideal service for me, with the PC Bank issue being the barrier to my being able to get real benefit out of it.
It is unfortunate that changes at PC Financial/CIBC have shut out aggregator services like Mint. Since the benefits of consolidate financial information are significant, what is needed is creative approaches from the banks and the aggregator services. Full account access is not required, only read-only access. Surely this could be provided in a manner that would not expose the stakeholders to risk. I would happily pay for such a service.
I am weary of security concerns that restrict my access to manage my financial information. The lack of creative thinking to find workable solutions by PC Financial/CIBC (and Mint?) is truly discouraging. -
-
I just joined today. I was able to add all of my accounts except for PC Financial. Every time I try to add the account, I receive a "Temporary Issue Connecting" error.
-
-
Still very frustrated. Please resolve this issue. It has been over 1 month now.
-
-
Cdn banks are supported. PC Financial and CIBC have decided not to give access to accounts to 3rd party aggregators as it would invalidate their privacy agreement. For more info talk to CIBC or PC F. They all received an email about this this week.
-
-
I guess the old saying is true: There is nothing "free" in life. I might not pay fees with PCF, but now I have to manually enter transactions onto a financial software because of who knows what they're concerned with Mint security? Frustrating!!! I also use TD Canada Trust, and have no issues with it in Mint. To add to PCF's "not so free" service, beware that their NSF fee is $40! TD is more forgiving than PCF with NSFs. Time for me to move away from their crappy on-line only bank :(
-
I'm tempted to drop PC Financial over this too. I have TD accounts ready and waiting and I'm already paying fees for them anyway. Too bad switching banks is such a pain.
It's been a while now and there is no movement. PCF/CIBC doesn't seem likely to change it's philosophy any time soon.
If I can't get consolidated financial information using PC Financial, then I guess I'll have to switch to a bank that can provide me with what I need. -
-
-
-
Please don't forget about us at PC Financial! I put all of my eggs in the Mint.com basket because I think your software is amazing but not it has been over a month since it stopped working.
And I haven't seen any responses from Mint on this topic in a very long time. Are you guys getting these messages? Is there any other way to contact you?
I really love this service and would even be willing to pay a monthly fee for it if it was consistently WORKING. -
-
-
-
It's been a couple of months, and I don't think this will ever be resolved. So goodbye Mint, it was promising, but I'm not going to wait anymore in hopes that you'll patch things up with PC and that my AMEX will ever work.
xo -
-
Is there anyone from Customer Service still monitoring this thread.
There's a lot of unhappy people.
@Jami? Hello? -
-
It worked for me once--enough for me to download the account information--but it hasn't been able to update since giving "Temporary Issues" as the error message.
-
-
-
-
Mine also worked for some time and a month ago stopped getting transactions. It's still able to get the account balance, but I can't actually track what the transactions are. Very frustrating :(
-
-
Add me to the list of frustrated. It has never worked for me. I have accounts with other Canadian banks and they work fine; maybe because the others are full service?
Is there an alternative to Mint.com? -
-
I'm trying to add PC as its my main account. Any way I'm adding it incorrectly?
-
-
CIBC (and PC financial) are blocking Mint from scraping the data. I've spoken with CIBC tech support and they are adamant that they will not re-enable this functionality.
A manual import option inside of mint would solve this problem. Surely the more advanced of us would be willing to go that route if it meant Mint was once again usable. -
-
Mint thinks that is is able to connect to my PC Financial MasterCard account (it gives me no errors), but no new transactions have appeared after the first week of October.
-
If anyone from PC Financial happens to give a damn -- Mint is fantastic, and if you refuse to budge on this, I will consider a switch to a different, Mint-friendly financial services provider as soon as I can in order to fix this issue if I must. Mint offers much more to me by way of features than your credit card does...
-
-
-
-
-
I'm also very disappointed PC Financial is trying to block this. Here's hoping they change their minds.
-
-
I wrote to PC Financial about this, but it was a complete waste of my time as it fell on deaf ears:
I wrote: "I used Mint.com (owned by Intuit) to manage my consolidated finances. I find that this online aggregator service makes management of my numerous accounts painless and easy (highly automated). Downloading transactions is too cumbersome. PC Financial has recently blocked mint.com from accessing account information due to the security implications of having 3rd parties accessing full online banking could represent. While I understand the concern, I wonder why you could not provide a read-only, non-identifiable data service for this purpose. A separate login and password could be assigned and this could be provided by the customer to the aggregator. I would gladly pay extra for this. "
They replied: "Thank you for taking the time to write to us.
Please note that we are currently experiencing a higher than usual volume of correspondence and accordingly, our response time is greater than usual. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and thank you for your patience. I regret any inconvenience caused to you.
In response to your message, to ensure the privacy and security of your financial information, President's Choice Financial does not support accounts being accessed by third parties, such as account aggregators. If you want to access your account information, please sign on to www.pcfinancial.ca using your President's Choice Financial bank card number and online banking password. If you have provided a third party with your sign on credentials, you will need to change your password and personal verification questions in order to be eligible in the future for the President's Choice Financial Personal Banking Online Security Guarantee. I replied: "Your response is akin to ignoring the suggestion presented my email to you. Much better to say "thank-you for the suggestion, we will pass it on", or not to reply at all. Now I will consider changing banks to one that is more progressive."
So they ignored my suggestion completely, patronized me by telling me what I had already stated in my email to them and then threatened me. What an uncaring, cold, corporate response. I can only assume that this is PC Financial's true stance.
I must conclude that PC Financial is more concerned about it's own risks than it's customer's needs.
I require a consolidated view of my finances in order to manage my money and to do financial planning. Imagine if CIBC told it's shareholders to go to various websites to see the performance of it's various divisions and denied them a consolidated view.
As soon as I can coordinate the transition of my banking to TD, I will. I'll be back Mint; for now, I have deleted my PC accounts. -

This is working for me now - PC Financial MasterCard (was updating my balance, but not showing transactions after the initial account add - now everything works fine)

I've had the same problem. PC financial worked fine, until 3 months ago. The mastercard end just started working, however I tried deleting my pc financial banking account and adding it again today (because this word with amex canada), but now I can't even find pc financial as a banking institution.
This really needs to get working for mint to be in anyway viable for me. -

I just talked with a PC Financial Supervisor and was told the reason they do not support Mint.com (and other 3rd party aggregators) is because you need to share your password with them.
Sharing your password violates your agreement with PC Financial.
I'm not sure whether other banks have less restrictive policies or whether they just don't enforce them.
Ideally there would be a way to give Mint.com access to some bank account information without having to share your password. It could be done with something like OAuth, which is what Facebook uses when authenticating with other websites.
My guess is that there are some collaboration/cooperation issues. If Mint.com is using a 3rd party for gathering the data, then this 3rd party would need to implement the change. And regardless, it would also require getting the banks on board for changing/adding to their authentication systems.
Though if Mint.com added OAuth support, it would give an option to banks who will not allow you to share your password with 3rd parties. -

Just heard they brought mint to canada, was stoked until I found out that my PC Fiancial chequing account wasn't working. The PC mastercard worked fine but not the chequing account. Bruuutal

Well, it's all working again now, at least it is for me. Various types of PC Financial accounts, all updating with current transactions. Not sure how long it'll last, but here's hoping they worked things out.

I have no expectation of it continuing to work. Yesterday I received a letter response to my letter to CIBC/PCF customer services re-stating their now standard response - that they deny access to 3rd parties in order to protect me and that I should not share my login credentials with anyone. They are only concerned with limiting their own risk/liability, this despite other options which could address both being presented to them.
Despite it working, CIBC maintains their close-mindedness and short sightedness.
I am intent on carrying through with my move to TD which seems to have a more progressive corporate culture.
I can only guess that either the block got accidently turned off on the PCF/CIBC side, or that they see the request coming from a different place that they haven't yet blocked. Maybe Mint added some servers for the Canadian launch and CIBC just hasn't caught on yet. One things for sure, CIBC's position certainly hasn't changed.-
Actually, now I just received an email from Mint announcing the Canadian launch and they specifically state CIBC is a supported bank. So, does this mean CIBC has had a change of heart? It was only last month that Mint said CIBC (and the PCF brand) were not supported. What's the official word?
Found this which seems to be "official word" all is well with CIBC now?? http://gsfn.us/t/19775 -

Are people's PC Financial accts. (banking no PC M/C) still working? - when it tries to add the account, it times out!? stating temporary connection issues.
I gave up on Mint with CIBC / PC; but interest was renewed when people said it was working, and the interview stating that it was working with all major canadian banks (when asked about CIBC) - frustrated all over again.-
Mine is working now. I quit Mint about 4 months ago because it stopped working, but since Mint official announced support for Canada I joined again and it works perfectly now!

Sooooo randomly PC Financial sent me a new banking card (the carrier / letter was dated December 7); I had not reported my card stolen, and I had already been sent a chipped bank card (smart card)... it was totally random and guess what?!?! it work's with mint. The other part worth mentioning is that my previous card was linked to a different email address... I am wondering if then trying to login to mint with a different account caused the system to not connect, and automatically issue me a new bank card?!

It finally works for me too, but a few random transactions don't download. However, I think this isn't limited to PC financial, so I'm going to chalk it up to a more widespread problem. Happy that PC is finally behaving like other accounts, even if it isn't perfect!

Not working for me...keeps saying temporarily unavailable.
I know PC changed their website recently, I wonder if that has anything to do with it....now you have to select your province first -

PC Mastercard hasn't worked for a week now and my checking/savings accounts haven't worked for a few days - says "Temporary issue" - retry doesn't fix anything. Mastercard keeps on prompting with security questions, which I verified the answer to on the Mastercard site itself.
So Mint is unusable for me. :( -

Same issue as above. Have had trouble setting up PC Financial accounts but finally resolved by deleting and re-adding. I would hate to loeeall. My data by trying that again. It has stopped downlading transaction from all my pc accounts while other banks/cards updat fine.
